excellent vacation experience

This is a great vacation home for large families, or for extended family groups. Our group was comprised of 2 single adults, one married couple, and 5 children ages 7-17. The house exceeds the descriptions and photographs, is very well maintained, and certainly provides every possible "extra" you may want while on vacation. The kayaks, canoes, beach chairs, and bikes that are available to renters (free of additional charge) certainly help to increase the value of this property. We were able to kayak, swim, and fish right from the home's lovely new dock, or from the adjoining sand beach. The home sits on the banks of the Narrow River which is itself lovely, and home to a good bit of wildlife such as herons, swans, and gulls. the URI crew team could also be seen sculling in the water in front of the house on occasion.
Inside the home, we found the kitchen to be well-stocked with every convenience of home. The separate upstairs and downstairs living rooms were great when the adults needed time away from the kids and vice versa. We found Scarborough Beach to be lovely, and we especially enjoyed our time in the beautiful seaside town of Newport (15 min drive). Touring the mansions, the cliff walk, and the Newport Flower Show at Rosecliff mansion were all hits of the week.
Fishing at Middlebridge (approx 2 miles from the home) was great, with stripers, shad, flounder, and a couple of crabs caught using clam worms purchased at the bait shop right next to the bridge. The nearby Seven Moons restaurant was also a hit with our entire group.
Most especially, we found the people in this area of RI to be some of the most friendly folks we've encountered almost anywhere in our travels. They were helpful, talkative, interested, and interesting. Additionally, the owners are to be commended for their timely responses to our inquiries about the property and the area prior to our vacation in RI, and for providing such a great home away from home for our entire group. We look forward to returning to RI in the future, and would love to stay in the same home again.
