Villa Maroma is a rustic style villa situated inland at the foothills of the Sierra Almijara with magnificent views of the mountains. The villa is luxuriously furnished with a very attractive gallery area overlooking the lounge with its rustic log burner and grand leather sofa further enhanced by Morrocan themed soft furnishings. It has a large terrace around the kidney-shaped swimming pool complete with a stunning shaded eating area themed in blue and white nautical stripes. Carefully hidden speakers provide music adding to the wonderful atmospherics of this amazingly located villa. The comfortable sunloungers provide the ideal place to relax whilst taking in the incredible views of the surrounding mountains and villages below. The barbecue area is complemented by an outside kitchen and preparation area, with its own fridge freezer. To the other side of the villa is a covered porch area where a leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed, looking over the beautiful Tejeda National Pa

Located in the countryside, the villa is only a 4 min drive from Canillas de Albaida, a small white-washed village with many local bars, restaurants, shops, chemist and a bank. The well-known village of Competa is only a 12 min drive away with an abundance of shops and restaurants. The coastal town of Nerja with its stunning beaches, interesting caves and fabulous shops is a 20 minute drive. Further days out can be enjoyed at Granada, Malaga, Marbella, Furengirola and Puerto Banus. The area local to Villa Maroma is a hill walkers paradise and is also visited by many artists and photographers capturing their own impressions of this beautiful part of an unspoilt Spain.

Competa, The Costa Coast, Nerja, Granada & Malaga: Nearby Competa: Competa is a local tourist spot and a hub of activity. The beautiful square is an ideal place to sit with a glass of locally produced wine and watch the villagers go about their daily life whether answering the bells of the church and the call to prayer or selling their home grown produce at the weekly market. There are an abundance of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. After a leisurely lunch there is still time to explore the local craft shops tucked away up the many narrow streets. The Costa Coast: The coast is 12 miles away and the town of Nerja, with its stunning beaches and spectacular caves. Shopping here is a delight with many boutiques and leather shops. Places to visit/activities: The magnificent Alhambra Palace at Granada is a day trip away and Malaga is well worth a visit. Golfers can play the new Baveira Course only 12 miles away and at Velez Malaga there is an Aqua Park for the children.

Marbella and Puerto Banus: Marbella can also be visited from the villa well within a day. Here you will find Orange Square with wonderful restaurants and shops. The neighbouring resort of Puerto Banus is well worth a visit to watch the rich and famous arrive on their incredible yachts and shop in the many designer boutiques which stretch for the whole length of this glitzy port. Certainly a people watchers paradise!!
