Casa Mariposa is a three bedroom home with four and 1/2 half baths, custom built colonial style with Private pool, located in the town of Playa del Carmen in a beachfront section known as Playacar phase 1. This is a neighborhood of exclusive custom built homes, enriched with low density and Mayan ruins. Next to Casa Mariposa is a park with many Mayan ruins that are lit at night to emphasize their ancient beauty. We are steps from the ocean, 3 minutes to the Cozumel ferry, 5 minute walk to 5th Avenue, where you will find shopping, restaurants and music entertainment. Enjoy over-sized rooms and a 35ft. terrace which is partly covered for shade. The sunken living room with pillars is very elegant, yet comfortable. It has two built-in couches and antique furniture. The full kitchen includes a microwave.The king bedroom has air conditioning, and all rooms have overhead fans. Additional amenities include free internet access and two 27' TVs with satellite. AC in all bedrooms

Crib, Stroller and High Chair Available for Free : Paul and Diane Lentine are the retired owners of Casa Mariposa, they have the house custom build 10 years a go .and keep the watchful eye on the maintenance and up keep of their special elegant Casa Mariposa , They return to Vermont for the summer months so, Paul can participate in his Shriners and Masonic activities in which he was a officer in his fire Brigade and participated in Parades in USA and CANADA Diane has been a National officer in the DAR and belongs to the Mexican Chapter also she is very proud of her membership in the Mayflower society .If you belong to MASONIC OR SHINERS TEMPLES OR DAR or MAYFLOWER SOCIETY and want to come and enjoy this wonderful exciting Mexican paradise we will offer special discount .

We spent 2 weeks at Casa Mariposa. It was such a wonderful experience. It was so relaxing and pleasurable. The house was a short walk from town yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. It was definately a home away from home. We enjoyed our experience at Casa Mariposa immensely and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for rest, relaxation and fun.
We were sad to leave but look forward to returning in the near future.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

villa is at excellent location - very close to the beach, walking distance from 5th avenue, we were pretty happy with that
this was our first time of renting villa and it was since it was 3 adults in a 2 bedroom house, but we didn't cook like we thought we would and end up going to have lunch or dinner at restaurants. so don't think it will be like at home
the only plus if you have a lot of people - this will be better to stay in villa then hotel. and you'll have your privacy also
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Our family has been traveling every year for the past 20 years.
This year our friends recommended Casa Mariposa. We have never had such a wonderful experience! Not only is the property exceptional in every aspect but the owners, Paul and Diane are the most gracious and enjoyable couple we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They will provide you with exceptional customer service and are a wealth of historical knowledge. Paul and Diane will help guide you in whatever interests you have. We cannot wait to return to this prestigous home. The property is situated in a gated community that is very quiet and private. The private beach is uncrowded and exquisite. The sand is like powder. And yet if you chose to be in the bustle of things you only need to walk a few very safe blocks to 5th avenue, full of shops and restaurants and the public beach, to do so. The ferry to Cozemel is just a couple blocks away. There is something for everyone so, book today, you won't be disappointed.
