This unique and well-appointed two room cabin nests high on a hillside overlooking Hinckley lake (400' away) The thick forest is home to all sorts of wildlife, you may be lucky enough to have the loons wake you and it's common to see bald headed eagles. Kitchen is stocked with staples.. The cabin comes equipped with Dolby surround-sound and a TV/ DVD unit. The floors are hand-painted, yet tough enough to withstand normal wear and tear. There is an interesting assortment of books, games and videos for quiet, rainy days. Enjoy it all in front of a crackling fire. Latest addition, an outdoor shower and bathtub!

Hinckley Lake, just 100 yards down the hill, is in on the edge of the beautiful and historic Adirondack mountains. The lake offers swimming and kayaking, rentals right next door! The Adirondack hiking trails are wonderful, especially in the fall. Biking is also excellent. In winter, access to the cabin gets a bit more interesting as the last 100 feet of road is fairly steep. The historic little town of Barneveld is 10 minutes away and here you can rent a DVD, shop the farmers or Amish markets in season or travel the roads and sight see, the vistas are grand. If you happen to be here for Remsen's 'Barnfest', that has evolved into a very successful and well thought out craft fair. In summer the area abounds with local field days.

My husband and I took a last minute weekend get away and were lucky enough to spend it at this cabin. It was clean, cozy and charming. The interior was like a home away from home and the exterior was like a dream land - the forest and flowers are beautiful and the outdoor shower is amazing. This was the perfect little getaway for us!
Recommended for:  Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: I always love the fact that my guests feel completely at home here, much along the lines of staying at their best friend's cabin.....and hopefully offering a few things that a guest would unlikely get at home; such as an outdoor shower/ tub in the garden with a lake view. Bring the bubble bath!

Great Winter Retreat!

I currently live in Florida, but my heart has always been up North...especially during the winter.
This last winter, I took a chance and spent a week here during the month of February. The stay was great!
The owner bent over backwards to assure my stay was well spent. She actually takes a personal interest in why you're coming up...to see if she can help to make it a truly enjoyable time.
The cabin was fully stock with firewood and the cabin was spotless.
I was reasonably close to a number of snowshoe trails in the lower Adirondacks for some day-hiking.
The bay window next to the bed gives an awesome view both at night and in the morning.
Needless to say, I didn't want to leave.
Will definitely return this winter.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Perfect Home Away From Home

We could not have asked for anything more! The cabin had everything we needed, was comfortable, was a wonderful getaway from everyday life. The owner also helped make it such a pleasurable experience; she is helpful and willing to do anything she can to make it an unforgettable trip. A quick walk leads you to your own private beach, overlooking the entire lake. We couldn't stop using the word "perfect" during our entire stay. We're already looking forward to scheduling our next vacation here!

What a great, relaxing weekend. The cabin was exactly as advertised, the meals were delicious, and the fact that they were also healthy was a definite bonus.
Waking up underneath a bow window that looks out through a forest and on to a lake...well we will definitely be back.
Great hiking here; and canoeing on the lake was probably the highlight, activity wise.
Highly recommended!
