Beautifully situated on the edge of the Forest of Défens, Les Chênes du Vilaron was originally a 17th Century farm dwelling tied to the ancient Domaine du Vilaron. For some of the last century it served as a weekend retreat. It has now been carefully restored and enlarged from its original one bedroom (with manger underneath) to its present three bedrooms. Its setting is peaceful, secluded but not isolated. It has a forest for a back garden and is set in extensive terraced land with fruit trees, olives, oak and pine. There is a beautiful pool (slightly larger than 10mx5m ) and the house is fully equipped to accommodate 6 people in luxury. We are only 35 minutes from Cannes (the coast) and about 45 minutes from Nice Airport.

The medieval perched villages of Montauroux and Callian provide a wide range of shops, services and restaurants. Provençe Cote d'Azur has been attracting artists and visitors for centuries from all over the world. Its coastline from St Tropez to Monaco affords glorious sights and breathtaking scenery. Royalty, movie stars, the famous and the not-so-famous come to sample the delights of French food and wine and to relax in style - French style. Les Chenes du Vilaron sits in the arrière-pays where life is more authentically Provençal: time is measured differently - the food is so good that it has to be eaten at a leisurely pace! Grasse, the perfume capital, is the nearest large town and full of interest and character. Only a short 15minute drive away is the Lac de Saint-Cassien offering beach facilities, windsurfing, boating and fishing. At Fayence there is gliding. There are several golf courses nearby.

Absolutely breathtaking property! A Dream vacation

I had the pleasure to stay a week at this wonderful property the first week of May 2006. It was everything we expected and then more! The property is secluded, yet within easy and short driving distance from the Village with nice shops. The Tuesday Market at the main square was glorious with plenty choices of veggies and fruits; we barbecued plenty. We also took a number of easy day trips to outstanding hilltop medieval cvillages; Callian, Fayence, Tourettes, etc...Nice is probably an hour away. The house is very comfortable and it has everything you will need, including a nice pool for a relaxing time. You do need a car, though. The local restaurants were excellent. My husband uses a wheelchair and he found the house very easy to maneuver, albeit limited to the downstairs and the studio he had everything he needed and was very comfortable. I did Yoga every morning at the yard, just lovely place. Josh was lovely to work with, eager to answer any question and help in any way possible.

It remains my dream vacation that came true!!
