Beautiful 4 season scenic waterfront property with dock and sandy bottom walk-in swimming . Beautiful lake views from living room, large deck and outside eating area. Single level house 3 bedrooms/1 bath. Separate (seasonal) guest house, included, with 1bedroom/bath. Blankets, pillows are included. Renters must provide sheets and towels. Flat screen TV w/ satelite dish. Sandy bottom waterfront w/ easy access. Our house is fully equipped. New York state boat launch nearby. Row boat included. Power boat rentals nearby. A security deposit is required.

The Chateaugay Lakes, an Adirondack Secret?

Probably not a secret, but these lakes provide a great place for quiet time without all the tourist-type attractions. This was our second stay in three years. This is a neat little cabin located where the ‘narrows’ enters Lower Chateaugay Lake. Lake and sky views are beautiful. The water depth off the dock is perfect for swimming. The cabin is clean and the yard is very well kept. The deck is really nice and has a quality grill. Rent a boat from Martin’s Bait and Tackle on the narrows and tour both the Upper and Lower Lakes. They are equally beautiful. The large windows in the family room allow for perfect evening views while reading. Hit the Hollywood Inn for dinner and Harrigans for ice cream. Can’t wait to get back!

Chateaugay Lake is a beautiful experience

My stay at this site was pleasant. The camp is located on a perfect spot on the lake with spectacular views, to experience the sunrise and sunset and the night time sky! The camp was spacious enough to allow for visitors for conversation and dining. It was clean , with the only problem in one bedroom with flying ants or some insect invading the wall under the window.The bed i slept in was comfy . The major problem was the uncomfortable seating in the living room, the couch and chair were dreadful to sit on and the TV seemed so small to provide for a whole room of people. With a few changes the visit would have been without complaint. ( The weather might have been more co operative, but it's Northern New York, what can you expect?}
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: Having spent the weekend in the property following this renter, we saw no evidence of "flying ants". However, as we prepare for the upcoming winter season, we will investigate and attend to any issues of this nature.

While we do have a TV in the property, in the 8 years that we have had this property, the TV has not been the focus of our guest's stay.With the upcoming switch to digital TV in Feb 2009, there will be some type of change, next season.

A wonderful family vacation

Our stay at Chateaugay Lake was a vacation that we will always remember! The house had a great yard for playing wiffle ball and a great place for kids to go swimming.
The deck was spacious and the grill was "perfect". The beds where very comfortable!! Overall the house was very clean, the landscaping was beautiful!!
The number of fish caught was average, but the quality of the fish we caught were outstanding. I would highly recommend this vacation for a family or a fishing vacation, of which we had both.
