Manset Studio

As other reviews state, the studio was well maintained and wonderfully cozy. It was tucked away from the more touristy areas which made it very relaxing.
The driveway was partially washed out when we arrived, but the owners were helpful and accomodating regarding this. It was fixed mid-week and was fine.
There was no cable television, much to my sports-loving husband's sadness, but we kept busy in the area nonetheless. I regret not spending more time exploring Southwest Harbor, as we spent a majority of time in Bar Harbor and Acadia. Down the road from the studio, I wanted to stop at the Hinkley store (if you're a boat/sailing person, you know who this is!), but I saved this to do on the weekend and found the store was only open during the week. Next to it was restaurant that looked very quaint, though we didn't eat there either. So . . . my tip is . . . check out the side roads!
We loved the BBQ and beer at the Atlantic Brewing Co., shared a table with a family from Florida, and were treated nicely by the local patrons. If you go to Bar Harbor and enjoy a good breakfast, don't miss Jeannie's. If you plan to eat at the Jordan Pond House, in Acadia, get there early. It opens at 11:30 a.m., so when we got there at 11:00, we had a parking space in the lot. When we went later, we had to park down the road. The bakery in Southwest Harbor seemed a bit pricey to us, costing over $12 for 2 pastries and a bottled water. The food was good, however, despite the price.
If you hike, be warned that the "moderate" status of the Pemetic Mountain Trail in Acadia is NOT "moderate." It was quite a hike, though the views once you crawled, gasping for breath, to the top were great. Make sure you take water!!
Lastly, though I am by no means a morning person, we got up at 4:00 a.m. to go to watch the sunrise on Cadallic Mountain. t was freezing and windy up there but WELL worth waking up and being cold for!!
Hope this all helped!! Enjoy!
