Hardy's Hill House, once a turn-of-the-century boarding house, is a perfect country getaway near the sea. Set on one grassy acre bordered by a stone wall and trees, the house has large airy rooms, sparkling clean, a fieldstone fireplace, newly-painted interiors and hardwood floors. There are 3 small decks with views of the barn and woods. Behind the house is a picnic area with a large picnic table and charcoal grill. See our Hardy's Hill House website for more details and photos. Stroll down Ferry Lane to Eggemoggin Reach to swim, sunbathe, or launch your boat. The area is ideal for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cycling, and beach combing. Visit antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants, play golf or tennis, explore nearby islands. Enjoy theater, music and films at Stonington's Opera House, watch the day's catch arrive at the fishing pier, or hop the mail-boat to Isle au Haut. Off-island destinations include Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Castine, and Blue Hill.
