Newly constructed in 2004-2005, this small log home is situated on 1.3 wooded acres in a quiet, private cove on pristine Green Lake, the area's finest and deepest spring fed salmon lake. Our cozy log cabin has a large screened-in porch facing the lake, cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan, kitchen/dining room, two bedrooms, bathroom w/ shower, TV room, 'spare' twin bed, utility room and walk-out basement.

Our cabin is located at the end of Keiser Way, a private road bordering beautiful Northeast Cove, home to loons, osprey, bald eagles, bass, otter, deer, and the occasional moose . Great trails wind through the heavily wooded area, which is teeming with wildlife. Swim, hike, boat, fish, walk, and generally explore the area. Enjoy the Blue Hill region and Acadia National Park, each less than one hour away. Terrific public sand beach, swimming and boat rental at Jenkins Beach, 10 minutes from cabin.

The Blue Heron cabin on Green lake was perfect for our family vacation. Our "kids" are older and enjoyed boating on the lake and just hanging out reading in the hammock. The distance to Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island was great, we could drive in and visit but did not have to deal with the crowds all day. Getting up and having our morning coffee on the deck listening to the Loons was peaceful and relaxing was to start the day. We highly suggest this cabin for a relaxing nature filled vacation.

Despite some of the rainiest weather imaginable, we had a lovely time at this cabin on Green Lake and rented it two years in a row. It has a welcoming & friendly decor and is well-equipped & spotlessly clean.
There's a spacious screened-in porch -- have a seat with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, look out at the lake, & listen to the loons! The cabin has a decently-sized kitchen, a comfortable dining/living room, and a downstairs TV room -- plenty of space so that the family need never feel crowded together. The master bedroom is a snug fit, but the entryway (as well as downstairs) has plenty of closet space & shelves for coats, boots, hiking gear, & other stuff that you might bring along.
Yes, the drive in to the cabin is a LONG one from Rt1A, but this means you definitely get away from it all. For example, a sandy beach is close by, but NOT miniature golf. A kayak (w/ all necessary gear) is on site and Green Lake is lovely for swimming & fishing. Enjoy the seclusion & nature watching.
A wonderful extra: the downstairs has a washer and dryer -- no need for a laundrymat!
