Beaches:
The beaches are great. The sophistication of the swimmers depends on the chosen beach. Beach in front of House - You can swim off the beach in front of the house. It is recommended that one wear swim shoes because it is rocky. You can walk down the shoreline towards Newport Beach and there are a couple of swimming holes that are fun. Off our beach you can also launch our 3 kayaks.
Newport Beach (aka Eastons Beach) -You can walk 1/4 mile down the Esplanade to Newport Beach.
Second Beach- To the right about a mile is the beginning of Second Beach which is a National Park and stretches for miles. There is surfing at the beginning beach and you can rent surf boards and reserve a surf lesson.
Third Beach 1.5 miles - This beach is sheltered and does not get big waves. Young children learn to swim here and there are lessons and rentals for wind surfing.
Spectacular Ocean Setting:
This is a magical place. The house sits on piece of land directly on the Atlantic Ocean with 'Maine' outcroppings. It is a spectacular setting. When you sit on the deck or in the Great Room you feel like you are on a ship. However you don't ever get sea sick. The house is lovingly cared for and anyone who visits it has wonderful memories. It was built as a warm family home and has a beautiful flow for living. There are days when you will not want to leave the deck. From the deck the sunsets are spectacular and many times you can see the fireworks in the area. Life doesn't get any better!!!
Amenities:
The family uses the house during the off season and during parts of the summer. The house is kept Turn-key. Each bed has a down comforter and 100% cotton sheets. There is Barlow Tyrie on the deck and Cowton and Tout in the TV Room. Everything one needs is there. (ex. blow dryer, iron, 2 chess sets) The kitchen has a bar sink, a Cuisinart, garbage disposal, electric kettle, rice maker cook books etc. The bed in the master bedroom is hypoallergenic and the double bed in the children's room is as well. There is a ramp leading up to the house and no front steps. The downstairs study has a hospital bed that raises up and down. There is a stone fireplace in the Great Room and logs below the deck.
