A delightfully located and historic, 236 year old, 'Country Georgian' home next to farmland and bordering on the Habitant River estuary on the edge of the historic Acadian hamlet of Habitant, near the old village of Canning. Beautifully situated on the quiet and pretty road to Kingsport, near the Blomidon Ridge Winery (open on Sundays!), the house is surrounded by open farm fields and natural woodland through which flows a year-round brook emptying into the Habitant estuary and its enveloping saltmarsh. Wildlife and migratory birds abound. Wolfville & Kentville with all services, Acadia University & Colleges lie within an easy 15 minute (12 km.) drive; downtown Metro Halifax and the International Airport is an hour and a quarter (120 km.) trip. It is an ideal location for both a restful, quiet vacation with peaceful fields with an abundance of wildlife; active in that the paved roads & paths around are ideal for biking, hiking and touring. Kingsport Beach is just down the road, where you can swim at high tide, and at low tide walk for miles along red sandstone cliffs on the bottom of the sea. Watch the world's highest tide come in. Migratory shore birds feed here in summer. Hike the fabulous trails at Blomidon Provincial Park and Cape Split, 15 minutes away. Visit Wolfville with its theatres, restaurants, galleries, and shops, Acadia University, and botanical garden at the Irving Centre. Visit Grand Pré National Historic Park, which commemorates the Acadians who settled the area 400 years ago and were expelled by the British & American colonists in 1755. Dine on lobster at the wharf and visit artists' studios in Halls Harbour. Kayaking, canoeing & fishing nearby. There are three 18-hole golf courses within a 15-30 minute drive. Bicycle rentals and group bike rides available. Horseback trail riding on the nearby North Mountain.

A fine red sand beach is nearby with safe bathing for families or for just watching the magnificent world-record tides of the Fundy shore breathe in and out daily. The sunsets over Cape Blomidon and the North Mountain are magnificent. Biking, kayaking, and hiking. There are 3 public golf courses within a 30 minute drive. Fresh lobster dining by the Fundy shore.

Nature walks are held regularly by the Blomidon Naturalists Society, or go for drives, soaking in the peaceful scenery. The Annapolis Valley is famous for its apples, fruits and fragrant spring orchards. The Apple Blossom Festival is held at the end of May each year, with a parade and music events. Visit the Organic Farmers Market in Wolfville on Saturdays throughout the summer and fall. Excellent massage therapists in the area. In the winter, the area is famous for eagle watching and cross-country skiing. Sleigh rides are available locally, and Martock ski hill is 40 minutes drive away. There are modern hospital facilities and shopping centres 15 minutes away.

Wolfville, Kentville and New Minas, a short drive away, offer a complete range of modern shopping services from distinctive boutiques and crafts to multiplex movies, with theatres and festivals throughout the year.
