As the eastern-most home in the U.S., this 1830's cape is next to Quoddy Head State Park. Scenic ocean view, including the town of Lubec and Campobello Island. Total privacy on 12 acres of fields, beach, and apple orchard with hammock. This spot is ideal for bird watchers and nature lovers. From the property, several Bald Eagles are daily viewed. Many ducks, woodcock, and deer are active. On the bay, fishing boats are daily on the move or at work. The night sky is just a dome of stars. Hiking trails of varying lengths are either right out the door or within a few minutes drive. Even though the house can sleep twelve, it is still very cozy for a couple. Quoddy House is an excellent location to host a family reunion or multi-family gathering. No smoking in this home.

Wedding Location: Quoddy House has hosted weddings and anniversary celebrations. This is a great location for a family reunion. One couple spent their honeymoon there, as well. This is a spectacular location for a seaside wedding or family gathering. The fields overlook the ocean and islands. There is ample room, on the land, to accommodate almost any number of guests. For a reception, large party tents can be erected either right by the ocean in a field or by the house around the apple orchard. There are two weddings and one family reunion scheduled for 2008.

The pictures and descriptions on this site don't begin to do justice to Quoddy House. An absolutely beautiful and intact early cape right on the water....and caring, attentive owners....it really doesn't get much better than that....

We just got back from a week there and it was amazing....the views, the scenery, the wildlife, the kindness of everyone we dealt with---particularly the owners Kate and Tony! I've already made plans to go back next year. Our children (7, 9 and 13) absolutely loved it as well...."best trip to Maine we've ever had" said the 7 year old. The upstairs of the house can sleep quite a few people and was like a private utopia for the boys..... It is unusual in that while it could sleep a lot of people it would still feel cozy for a couple as well.

Charmingly furnished, It's set up with everything it would seem you could need----very kid friendly, lots of toys, books, games etc., fully equipped kitchen, nice full bath....

Truly a special place......we recommend it wholeheartedly....

Quoddy House is a Special Place!

We are headed back to Quoddy House for our third summer and couldn't be more happy to rent from Kate & Tony. The property is breath taking and the house is a perfect getaway for a few or a lot of people. We could stay at the house all day, exploring the 12 acres, going down to the rocky beach, etc. We saw bald eagles from the house at least 4 times during the week we were there.

The house isn't fancy, but it's very clean and well-equipped for those of you who love to cook and eat while on vacation. The beds are comfortable and there are ocean views from most rooms in the house.

West Quoddy State Park is a 10 minute walk from the property and has lovely hiking trails. Additional hiking trails are located an easy car ride and include many scenic ocean side hikes.

Kate is a wonderful hostess and is happy to provide information concerning local attractions including local farmers markets, whale watching tours, Campobello Island and Eastport. There is also a basket full of maps and brochures for the local attractions.
