Nice house but leave it perfect to ensure deposit

The house was nice, but with an awkward layout (including the kitchen) so we didn't use many of the rooms. Also the check-in was a bit late and the check-out a bit early. It was a great house but if you rent it make sure you leave it PERFECT although the house wasn't very clean when we came in. Note that I did not get any of my security deposit back which I thought was an exageratted response for our circumstances. I'm not sure I recommend the house for families with small children or pets due to this.

The house layout is very friendly particularly for families with children and pets, evidenced by the fact that I bought the house to vacation with my 3 boys and 2 dogs. The renter who submitted this negative review, my only in 3 years of rentals, broke a major term of their rental agreement, they smoked in the home which is a non-smoking home, leaving cigarette butts around the structure, putting the historical home at risk. And yes, they knew it was a non-smoking house because they were asked the question in person when they received the key. The check-in time of 4:00 and the check-out time of 11:00 is standard for the industry, but upon request, these times are flexible. All you have to do is ask and I will try to accommodate you.
