This lovely old family home overlooks a beautiful, wild flower filled meadow. It is near the mouth of Perkins Cove and just down the street from the trolley stop that takes you to the downtown area, the main beach and nearby York. Walk down the private country road to the Marginal Way. Walk along the path that runs more than a mile along our rocky coastline with Perkins Cove on one end, the baby beach in the middle and Ogunquit Village on the other. All of the shops, fine restaurants, fishing boats and entertainment are within walking distance. This is a great property for family reunions in a private community just off the beaten path of the heartbeat of Ogunquit.

Thompson Lane is on the left off shore as you go toward Perkins cove. It is a private way and the house is at the end. It is about two tenths of a mile to the restaurants in Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way. a short walk will bring you to the little beach or take the trolley to the main beach 3/4 of a mile away. This is one of the best locations in town and is very private with open land in front of the house which you can enjoy from the front porch. Thompson Lane connects onto Cooley lane and kids from all four houses bike and skateboard. Most of the summer renters are families. Cafe Amore is now next door at Thompson Green , walk to the best breakfast in town.

All four houses are available for family reunions: There are some very good courses in the towns of York and Kennebuckport. The Town of York runs one trolley to Ogunquit and the stop is close by at Frazier Pasture Rd. York beach has the animal kingdom and funland park

Breakfast: Cafe Amore is now next door at Thompson Green. Walk to the best breakfast in town .

This was our first stay in this house. There were 8 of us and we all loved it.

The owner was very personable and showed concern for our enjoyment of the area and the comfort of our stay.

When the rain kept us inside, we had movies and games. Puzzles provided by the owner were a nice addition not to mention the trivia book that kept us entertained when all of Perkins Cove was hit by a nasty storm.

On the humid days, the front, screened porch was a nice spot to relax with a nice cool breeze.

The house is within walking distance of everything Ogunquit has to offer.

I highly recommend this property for a family vacation and I hope to stay there again in the future.

Charming & Great Location

We enjoyed an extended stay at this property. This charming home sits in a field, giving you the privacy and tranquility of a country setting, but it is a short walk to Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way, and a longer but easy walk into town and to the beach. The historic home has many original features, such as wood floors and paneling, and a large screened porch on the front. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. And the owners who live nearby are very nice and helpful. We hope to return again.

Wonderful home in the heart of Ogunquit

I have been going to Ogunquit, Maine for over 37 yyears. For the past two years we have spent at this cottage with 2 families and 4 smalll children. The size is perfect for out needs (PLENTY OF ROOM) we are able to spread out and are not be on top of one another. for one evening every year we have 3 other couples visit with 3 additional children for a family dinner - all own houses in Maine in York and Casco bay and love this home. It is beautifully maintained and George Cooley is a gracious host. Things we like about the house:

- Rooms are a good slze and well ventilated allowing you to enjoy the Maine evenings

- the screened in porch a great place to play games at the end of the day and enjoy the wonderful veiw of wildflowers that grow in a field in front of the house

- gas grill to cook your fresh seafood!
the kitchen is fully operational and large work space - all the appliance work wonderfully; dishes, etc are clean

- I have seen personally how quickly George moves to repair a door or refridgerator when necessary - fast!

- Secluded - you feel secluded however close enough to the market and beach to walk - it was secluded enough that the kids (5-8 year olds could run around and not get into to trouble and we did not have to worry)

I would most certainly recommend this to anyone considering ogunquit for a vacation, we have already booked our time next year

Great place to stay

We had our family reunion in this house and it was a great choice. It was clean, pretty, private, spacious and everything worked. The owners were very welcoming and attentive to our questions and needs. The location was great, close to Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way walking trail along the beach. Downtown Ogunquit and the big beach was something of a hike but a pleasant one and the trolley is there if you don't want the walk. A convenience store is handy along with lots of good restaurants. We would stay there again. Great spot.

Our family has been coming to Ogunquit every summer for several years. We love the rustic yet charming atmosphere of this house that we rent. The owners are very accommodating and friendly- always around to help or answer questions. There is plenty of room in the house for a large family, including a full kitchen, laundry room, plenty of beds upstairs and downstairs, 3 bathrooms, a beautiful screened in porch, and a nice yard with a barbecue grill. The property is secluded off the main road, so there is no traffic or noise. The best part is it's only a short walk to Perkins Cove and the Marginal Way - who could ask for anything more! We love this rental property. It's perfect for our family.
