Sitges:
For those who don’t know it Sitges is a Spanish resort with a difference and a far cry from the noisy typical resorts of the Costas. It has been fashionable since the 1890´s, when it became an avant-garde art world hang-out attracting writers, painters, intellectuals and artists as a home and inspiration for their work. It has also been one of Spain´s most anti-conventional, anything-goes resorts since the 1960s.
Nowadays Sitges appeals to everyone from jet setters to young travellers, honeymooners to weekending families, Barcelona night owls to an international gay crowd. The 4 km stretch of sandy beaches are beautiful, there’s a lively nightlife if you like to party and there are lots of groovy boutiques if you need to spruce up your wardrobe as well as an impressive range of authentic restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets.
Sitges is also renowned for it’s many Fiestas and awesome firework displays.
Barcelona:
With Sitges just a short commute away from Barcelona, and an excellent transport system (trains that leave every 10 minutes almost around the clock) it is possible to stay in the relaxing holiday atmosphere of Sitges and at the same time enjoy all that this popular cultural city has to offer by day or night.
