Photos and Description of this Plymouth holiday house 7 BR, 3 BA, Sleeps 14

A large, comfortable, fully restored Vermont farmhouse, circa 1870, with all the charm of that period. Has a large family room with a native stone fireplace and stove insert, forced hot air heat and oil-burning water heater. The house sits on 35 handsome, wooded acres with 1,000 feet of frontage on Lakes Echo and Amherst in the historic town of Plymouth, birthplace of the late President Calvin Coolidge. We have a two-oven electric stove, microwave oven, washer dryer, dishwasher, satellite TV with DVD player and two large refrigerators and a dining room table that seats 12. We also offer a private beach, a rowboat with special sailing gear and a swim float. Fishing is excellent. Championship Okemo Valley Golf Course is six miles away and riding is available one mile north. Tennis courts are available for hourly rental throughout the area.

Activities tend to center in the town of Ludlow, 6 miles away. These include the Okemo Mountain Resort and Ski Area, as well as a number of local stores featuring antiques, bric-a-brac and many items klinked to the local scene. There are also numerous good reataurants in the town, offering varied fare. These include Archie's , the Irish pub known as Killarnhey, DJ's, as well as several eateries in the Jackson Gore Hotel on Okemo Mountin. For breakfast, check out The Hatchery and Trapper's, both on Main Street.

Things To Do:: Killington Mountain gondola to summit; Village of Woodstock, traditional early American houses, summer long show offerings. Near Woodstock -The Raptor Center- housing many raptor type birds who were wounded and nursed back to health but unable to return to the wild. Hiking on The Long Trail, stretching from Massachusetts state line to Quebec border. The Shelburne Museum, near Burlington, is wonderful for kids as is the Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream factory in Waterbury.
