Beautiful 4 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath beachfront house located on the Gulf of Mexico, 1 mile away from Chicxulub in the Yucatan Peninsula. Just 20 miles away from Merida, the very spacious two story house has a swimming pool along with a nice large terrace that is perfect for BBQs, sun tanning, or enjoying the beautiful sunsets. The second floor terrace can be used for a more private environment. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and satellite TV is available in the master bedroom.

Nearest Airport: Merida International airport at 28 Miles
Car: recommended
Little grocery stores are within walking distance in Chicxulub. In Progreso (4 miles) you will find many restaurants, cyber cafes, American style supermarket, banks, ATMs, hospital, practically anything you might need during your stay. In Merida (20 miles) you will find many of the goods you see in the US or Canada, in stores like Walmart, Sam´s, Costco, big department stores, etc. There are many restaurants, movie theaters, night clubs, etc. where you can find entertainment, that is if you wish to leave the relaxing ambiance of Chicxulb. How to get here: it is usually cheaper to fly into Cancun and rent a car and drive over here. Another option is to fly into Merida (flights from Miami, Houston and Mexico City are very convenient). Having a car will make your stay much more comfortable.

  • September to June: 1 week $850 USD; 2 weeks $1,600 USD; 3 weeks $2,250 USD; 1 month $2,700 USD
  • September to June: 1 week $850 USD, 2 weeks $1,600 USD, 3 weeks $2,250 USD, 1 month $2,700 USD.
    Holy Week & Easter Vacation: $2,200 USD each week.
    July & August: $10,000 USD each month.
  • Prices include all taxes and utilities. There are no extra charges other than specified here.
    An advance payment of 50% of the total rental rate is needed to book the house. The rest is due upon arrival.
    Up to medium sized pets are accepted. A $500 USD damage deposit, refundable upon departure, is required.
    If you wish the caretakers to cook for you, it has an additional cost of $90 USD a week. Please inquire.

Notes: The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, freezer, toaster, microwave, stove, electric coffee maker, blender, table and chairs, complete set of dishes, silverware, glasses, serving dishes, frying pans and pots. The big and beautiful living room and dining room are fully furnished. The laundry facilities include a washing machine only. Chencho and Leti are the caretakers and they clean the house and change linens once a week. Leti can do the cooking for you for a minimal fee.

THIS PLACE MADE OUR VACATION. 6 VERY PARTICULAR MEN WHO ARE WIDELY TRAVELED. LETI, THE COOK, WAS WONDERFUL. WE WILL RETURN. YOU CAN BUY FRESH FISH FROM THE FISHERMEN AS THEY ARRIVE AT THE BEACH ONLY 200 YARDS AWAY.

We spent February, 2009 here and thoroughly enjoyed the house. Leti, the house manager, kept everything spotless (for a modest fee) and is a great cook.
The shortcomings were no kitchen hot water, very small pool, low water pressure, leaky fridges, burned light bulbs, and lack of good frying pans. Many of these items could be fixed in a flash for little money.
We would come back, but we'll check around.

If you are familiar with this area and are aware that this is NOT a touristy area..but are more interested in a relaxing, do nothing, enjoy the weather and never dress up vacation...then, this is perfect. House was very large..fairly well mentained, but it IS still Mexico and you must expect very little, if any, hot water and absolutely no spices (pepper & salt incl). Close to open air Mexican restaurants in Progresso and daytrips to the ruins. Hint...bring a cell phone as you cannot dial out on the house phone, but calls can come in.
