This perfect log cabin affords privacy, a large exterior deck for outdoor living and all within walking distance of Southwest Harbor center. Located on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island (Acadia National Park) but with an easy drive to everything. Master bedroom with private bath; large open and airy living and dining area; spare back room/office and new and open kitchen, all on the first floor. Second floor has 2 bedrooms, bath and balcony.

A Wonderful Relaxing Spot

Six other members of my family and I (seven total) stayed at 'the cabin' for the first week of September 2007, and we all agreed that it was perhaps the best vacation that we have ever taken. The house was perfect, and exactly as stated. It has so much character on the inside and on the outside. There's a huge deck outside where we lounged around while waiting for the food to cook on the grill. The backyard is secluded and is well-shaded and has a large picnic table. The house is located 5 blocks or so from downtown Southwest Harbor which is a lovely town with a fantastic bakery, little grocery store, awesome pizza place, a hip (slightly yuppie) wine bar, and a terrific breakfast place and several other restaurants. We started every morning by walking into town to get coffee of to just smell the salty breeze coming off the harbor. I would without hesitation reccomend this home to anyone vacation on Mt. Desert Island.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
