Location, Location, Location - North End

My teenage girls and I stayed in the "Mapplethorpe" Apt from this owner last summer for a 5 day Boston experience. I'm from the area so every time we go to New England we stay nearer to family in the burbs - not this time! We had them come to us and had one of the best visits ever, plus I got to share the real Boston and with them and get to know the North End myself. Staying in this apartment in the heart of the North End is the only way I'll visit Boston. My husband who was raised less than 10 miles from the city has already asked if we can stay there next year as he spent just 1 night with us.
The apartment wasn't ready for us when we arrived. The local contact was less than helpful. The owner was unreachable until after our stay. The cleaners came in the next morning and did the best they could. That said, when Dror finally did get on the problem, he took care of us properly and well. I don't think this is the norm - I think there was a terrible miscommunication as they were finishing a bathroom remodel job.
Location is the best around. Walk everywhere and close to the "T" to take the subway the rest of the places. Do not rent a care - you can't park. If you need a car, get one for just the time you need it.
Best value in the city of Boston.
