200 year old farmhouse on 114 acres, Green Mountain National Forest Goshen (central ) Vermont. Not a bit fancy, but very relaxing: There are four bedrooms, one queen on the first floor for folks who have a hard time with stairs, etc. First floor also has dining room, large stone fireplaced living room and a full kitchen. There is a second claw foot tub bathroom on the second floor as well as three bedrooms: a large Queen, twins and a large double. Cable TV, game closet, sleds and a skating pond next door. Views are spectacular from the 3-season porch. Only one other home is visible from our property. Hiking trails, blueberry picking, the brightest stars on earth, as well as rivers and ponds abound. Near many ski mountains: Pico, Killington, Mad River, Sugarbush, Middlebury Snow Bowl as well as quaint, artistic town of Brandon. Within miles of 2 golf courses.

Nearest Motorway: rte 73 at 1 Miles
Car: necessary
The nearby town of Brandon has become an artist colony boasting many well-known local galleries, book store, shops and a terrific French restaurant. At any season, this is a wonderful family vacation location. For skiers, we are very close to Middlebury Snow Bowl, a small family mountain with varied terrain. A 1/2 hour drive takes you to Pico and Killington, and about 40 minutes will get you to Mad River and Sugarbush. Hiking and snowshoeing right out the door on logging trails throughout the property.

Quiet mountain retreat

This home was in an excellent location for our purposes. The property is on a very quiet street close to the Long Trail. There was a large private yard with lovely flowers and hummingbirds. It was a short drive into the town of Brandon which has a number of nice restaurants and shops. As disclosed, the house is not fancy, but definitely comfortable. The period furniture pieces are beautiful. We spent lots of time relaxing on the screen porch. Plenty of towels and linens were provided and the kitchen was well stocked with glasses, plates, silverware, etc. We were so happy we were able to bring our dog. He loved exploring the yard and our hike up to the Great Cliffs area.
