White Bear Lodge has stunning panoramic views of Mt. Quandary from it's floor to ceiling windows. The lodge backs up to National Forest, with a stream 20 yards away paralleling the property. The deck has a BBQ and a 60+ jet hot tub with a waterfall. The kitchen is huge, with cherry cabinets, stainless appliances and black slab granite counters. There are plates and silver for 24, as well as plenty of serve and bakeware. The dining table has 10 chairs, as well as a table in the breakfast room. The whole house has sound from the stereo system and CD player. High speed internet with wireless. The lower level great room has cabled big screen TV with surround sound, DVD and a game cube. There is a wet bar with refrigerator and microwave. There is a Sauna Room and Pool Table. There are a total of 5 bedrooms - 3 kings, 1 queen and 1 queen with a twin bunk and twin trundle. The large loft has 2 queen beds as well as a couch. Plus there are 2 aerobeds.

Notes: White Bear Lodge has radiant floor heating, which means that you never feel drafts, and it is comfortable everywhere. There are many zones to set to your comfort level. The walkout lower level has a refrigerator and microwave by the wet bar. This becomes the 'gathering room' because the pool table is there. The hot tub is 8x8, and has over 60 jets with a waterfall. Plus it is outdoors so you may view the stars or watch the snow coming down. It is totally private and has great views of the forest behind.

Our Hosts Went Out of Their Way for Us--Literally

My husband and i spent our anniversary at White Bear last weekend. The house was very nice, secluded, and quiet but not far from town. We enjoyed a hike right out the back door on a nice trail with no one else on it, and relaxing in the hot tub on our return. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed to make a fabulous dinner and the downstairs entertainment area was fun for playing pool and watching movies. Very relaxing.
After arriving home in Denver my husband realized he'd left his computer at the house. He called Marvelyn and she offered to bring it to us later in the week--but then she found a friend who was coming down the next morning and offered to drop it off. It saved us a 4 hour round trip back up the mountain to retrieve it--very much appreciated. These hosts were so warm and welcoming, I just can't say enough nice things about them. We will definitely seek out their properties in the future.

White Bear Lodge was perfect for our family gathering of 14, six of them children ages 8 - 15. The lodge was spacious and beautiful, well-furnished and in a lovely spot, good access to good roads taking one into a nearby village where there are many amenities. Maintenance was very helpful and quick to respond. In the end we were fairly treated and found the owners positive and trustworthy.
