Beautiful classic Vermont farmhouse, sitting on 120 acres, this home is up on a private, dead end road, a quiet haven in Woodstock, VT. Located 4 miles from the village, close to everything. Wonderfully renovated, lovely interiors using highest quality furniture, fabrics and Persian rugs, a rustic, cozy, light and airy home. Relax and enjoy the surrounding fields and woods, work out in the fully equipped gym in the basement, go fishing in the pond, go into town for a nice dinner, or cook out on the grill and dine al fresco on the stone terrace. Loads of things to do, or curl up and read a good book. It's a hide away where you can relax and do nothing, or head up the hill for a nice hike, or go into town, go skiing, antiquing, shopping, hop thorough art galleries, but just enjoy being in Vermont. Additional Information: This is a beautiful executive home, on 120 acres, with all of the expected amenities and comforts. Recent interior upgrades, full gymnasium, new furnishings, all new paint inside and out, new flat screen TV's, new French doors open to new stone terrace at back of house, stone table in upper field, very elegant and luxurious, yet comfortable and cozy for total relaxation. Fabulous large pond adjacent to stone terrace, stocked with trout. Snow removal and gardening are provided. At the top of the hill is an Oak Grove with stone table and bench for picnics in Summer and Fall. Sited on a private, dead end road, peace and quiet are assured. This home is a wonderful turn-of-the-century farmhouse with many upgrades and recent renovations.

Friday check-in 4 p.m. to Sunday 11 a.m. checkout. Saturday check-in 4 p.m. to Saturday 11 a.m. checkout. For weekly rentals, $1,000 refundable security deposit required. For monthly rentals, $2,000 security deposit required. Security deposits refundable after telephone bill has been received. Further deductions will be made if left unusually dirty or any damage.

Ski: Suicide Six, Killington and Pico, Okemo, Mt. Ascutney all within 15 to 30 minute drive. Ski equipment rental and apparel close by.

Golf: Golf available at Woodstock Country Club.

The most beautiful home we've ever rented.

Wow, what a magnificent home. My wife and I spent 2 days there in October and had a wonderful time. The home was so beautifully put together - it was like walking through pages of a super comfortable Architectural Digest level home - there was so much attention to detail throughout. The kitchen which hosts a fabulous huge farm table was simply the most beautiful kitchen I've ever been in. It has all top of the line appliances - we could of spent our entire time there in the kitchen. The grounds are spectacular - with the lovely pond and well attended fields. The master bedroom has one of those high overstuffed beds - that reminds me of the famous ones at Sofitel hotel in San Francisco where we often do business. Many of the rooms had state of the art flat panel tvs for some kicked back tv watching after a day leaf peeking. The house had broadband wireless for catching up on email and getting a bit of work done while away. And with all this sumptuous luxury - the rental fees were less than most of the b & b's we stayed in throughout Vermont. I only wish we had stayed longer to enjoy it all. And as another reviewer mentioned Woodstock is so centrally located in Vermont - you really can drive to any part of the state from there within a few hours.

By the way - the owner Barbara was a total pleasure to work with throughout the booking process and during the stay. She was always quick to answer any questions. And her property manager Stan - was just a quick call away with any questions about how the house worked/where things were, etc.

So, if you're thinking of renting this home - take it for a week or longer and let yourself really enjoy the place. It really is a home away from home.

A Perfect Getaway

It would be difficult to find a more perfect Vermont vacation home than this. Every detail of this renovated farmhouse obviously has been carefully thought out; every amenity provided. The family spaces - the family room , library, and livingroom - are beautiful, comfortable, and well-designed for relaxing, watching televison and reading (the house has a fine selection of current books and novels ). The kitchen is a joy for those who like to cook: the appliances are top-notch and there is all the cookware and dishes one might need . The adjoining dining room is spacious - we used it for all our meals. There is a gym with a full range of equipment for those who simply cannot sit still .Upstairs, the bedrooms are country house fantasies - high comfortable beds with cushy comforters and pillows and beautiful views of the grounds. The bathrooms are modern and attractive and there is plenty of hot water. The grounds are beautiful. Although we couldn't use the terrace because of rain, it would be a great place to sit and just enjoy the quiet of the surroundings.
The town of Woodstock is only a few miles away. It's fun for browsing and shopping, and there are some nice places to eat (Bentleys is one of our favorites). Vermont is small, so you can reach almost any destination easily. But even if you can't think of any specific place to go, just traveling the roads and visiting the small towns is lots of fun.
