No need to pack the car for distant beaches when you reside at water’s edge - just sit back and watch the noontime sun bring circles of vividly colored umbrellas, picnic baskets, and the joyful sounds of laughter. Children will find plenty of new friends while enjoying endless hours searching for seashells, turtles, and hermit crabs living within the warm tidal pools. Spend your days swimming, kayaking, windsurfing …or just relaxing. As night falls, slip out back and take a soothing rain-shower under the stars, then cuddle up on the patio, amid the flicker of candles, and enjoy the moonlight gently shimmering on the bay.
Wellfleet ~ An Explorer's Paradise:
Meander through the festive town of Wellfleet and you’ll discover a multitude of interesting art galleries, shops, and restaurants. Fishing excursions and sailing lessons are available at the Pier. Rent boats, kite/surf boards, fishing poles, kayaks, bikes, etc. Golf or sail at Chequessett Yacht and Country Club. Catch some family laughter at the weekly square dance on the pier, or check out the books and cultural events at the Wellfleet Library. Spend an evening at the Wellfleet Drive-In, or discover the perfect treasure at the flea market. Explore the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Catch Bluefish, Striped Bass, or go deep-sea Tuna fishing. Experience early morning yoga classes on the beach, or stop by the gym for a quick work out. Go bird watching ~ whale-watching ~ seal watching. Artistic expression is everywhere! There are always musical, theatrical, or children’s events happening both here in Wellfleet as well as in many other towns on the Cape.
