This charming log cabin in a forest/lake association in Becket has an open living room/kitchen combo with vaulted ceilings and skylights. The master bedroom has a handmade log bed, gel fireplace and is set back in the cabin for privacy, with a small deck off that room. There is also a small den furnished with a flip out foam love seat and an armoire. It would be a great spot to sit and read. The cabin is fully equipped, with a washer and dryer in the basement, accessible from outside. Get away from the city and simplify your life. Sit by the stream that runs on the back of the property. Have BBQs outside and sit by the fire pit at night. There is a long front porch with wicker furniture. The cottage is heated with a soapstone wood stove and back-up electric heat. It is near all area cultural events, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Tanglewood, Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge, skiing, Pittsfield museums and restaurants, non motorized boating, swimming, state parks, theater, hiking

  • This bathroom has a claw foot bathtub with a shower conversion. Great spot to relax with a good book. The room is small but functional and was re-wallpapered in 12/06. You can relax in the tub and enjoy the wooded views from the new Craftsman style window.

  • The master bedroom has a handmade queen size log bed from Montana and features a deck for your morning coffee or just to sit outside and read. Dine alfresco at the bistro table on the deck in the summer and fall, cozy up at the fire pit or pass the hours on the wicker rocker. The second 'bedroom' is really a small den that has a foam love seat sleeper and an armoire. It would be good for a child or a teenager. There is a sleep sofa in the living room that would sleep 2 in a non-private area if you are willing to undo the custom fitted slipcover. I also provide a twin size air mattress.

Notes: The washer and dryer are located in the basement, and must be accessed from the outside through an easy bulkhead. There is a fire pit in the yard and a portable one on the deck off the master bedroom. There is a stream in the back. In the summer there will be a screen house tent set up. This property is in a wooded area with stone walls. It is a short 2/10th mile walk to the nearest swimming area. It's a great romantic cabin for getaways as well as having great access to highways and cultural events in the area. The kitchen is fully equipped and contains baking pans, a mixer, toaster, toaster oven, micro, coffee maker, blender, bread maker, and dishes, towels, etc. If you wish to have a cleaning service, there is a $100 fee.
