This luxury, self contained oceanfront cottage has large outside decks and is surrounded with water views and arbutus trees. It's southwestern exposure on South Pender Island is part of the Gulf Island's unique Mediterranean environment on the west-coast of British Columbia between Vancouver and Victoria. The peaceful setting is ideal for a romantic getaway or a special reunion with another couple. It has access to our private beach and dock along with the use of a canoe or rowboat and a crab trap to catch your own dinner. Enjoy your own company on the outside decks in this idyllic setting and let the eagles, hummingbirds, otters and deer entertain you or the cottage is filled with books, games, CD player, VCR, TV and a cozy fireplace. Even though the location is rural in nature it is close to quality restaurants, a spa resort, farmers market, several artisan galleries, golf, fishing, kayaking, whale watching, frisbee golf and many hiking trails throughout our new National Parks.

Our location is considered to be the most ecologically unique area in Canada with a moderate Mediterranean like climate and with a significant portion of it's area protected by the Islands Trust mandate to 'preserve and protect' and by National Parks. Along with unique species of plant life and transient birds we are surrounded with otters, minks, killer whales and porpoises. A perfect area for someone who loves peace and quiet and enjoys being surrounded by water, nature and a rural atmosphere. Of course such a setting attracts artisans so take time to enjoy the galleries, market and theatre as well as the many hiking trails. For a change of pace take a 40 minute ferry ride to Victoria and enjoy major shopping and sightseeing attractions.

This was our first visit to the Pender Islands, but it will not be our last! The cottage was fabulous and the location could not have been more perfect. The peace and quiet there was just what we needed. What a find!
