Luna Bella Condo is at the very top of the hill, overlooking St John and the BVI's. You arrive at our unit by driving to the end of the highest road in the resort and then descending one flight of stairs to the entrance way. Our condo has a great layout. It features an entrance foyer and hallway, a large sunken living room / dining room combo, an elevated bedroom with a gorgeous Caribbean view, a bathroom with separate toilet area, a full kitchen with a bar separating it from the dining area, and a large and very private 25' x 8' balcony overlooking the water. You have a beautiful down island view from every room in the condo (except the bathroom). Besides the sliding glass doors to the balcony, there is a window in the bedroom and the foyer which makes for beautiful breezy nights for great sleeping. From the bed at night, you see the star-studded sky over Tortola and the shimmering lights of the other islands spanning the horizon. We can't imagine a more beautiful place to be.

There are three pools on the property, the hilltop pool, the middle pool and the lower pool. We have two restaurants, the Agave Terrace (a gourmet restaurant) and Fung'is (a funky beach bar/grill that right on the water) that are open for lunch and dinner. On the twenty minute ride from the airport to our condo, we like to stop at the Marina Market in Red Hook and pick up some groceries for breakfasts and snacks. At the concession next to Fungi's you can rent kayaks to explore Water Bay. There are also sailboats and catamarans which leave from the resort and excursions on these can be arranged right at Fungi's. To get around the property you can walk up and down the nature trails (not recommended for the elderly or small children), drive your rental car, or you can call for the complimentary shuttle.

There are two beaches on the property; Pineapple Beach and small and secluded Sugar Beach. You can rent windsurfers, wave runners, and sailboats at the resort next to Sugar Bay. Coki Beach (great snorkeling) and Coral World are a short walk away. Sapphire Beach , two miles away has a great Sunday Barbecue and beach party. Red Hook, just three miles away, has great restaurants, nightlife and ferries to St John, Tortola, Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda. There are many unspoiled beaches on St John to be explored. If you rent a car in St Thomas, you can take the car ferry to St. John and explore that island. Or, you can rent a Jeep on St John or take a local taxi to get around. St. John also has many great restaurants. Week in Island-style Paradise

Initial description accurate and says it all. You are at the top of a steep resort site with a short walk up and down from the parking. Power outages (affecting water supply) occurred 3 times. Stone access stairs to other levels were steep, uneven and unrailed. Use the shuttle if you care to wait. Continuous winds and wooden bedroom window shutters made for noisy nights. Late evening musical entertainment from adjacent resort site was unavoidable. Pools were great. Beach was not. Unit needs updated decor, especially in small bathroom. Requested change of towels was expensive and not received when requested. Overall impression of resort was casual maintenance, although worn building entrance railings were being replaced. Location convenient to nearby Red Hook shops, restaurants, and ferries if you have a vehicle. Especially liked Blue Moon Cafe at Secret Harbor Resort.
Owner's Response: Luna Bella is at the top of the mountain in a beautiful eco-resort. The Tradewinds provide fantastic breezes, enabling you to sleep with the windows and doors open at night.
Walking the rustic trails through the 15 acre nature preserve and encountering hummingbirds, and unusual fauna & flora is all part of its charm. But if you prefer not to, and you don't care to wait for the complimentary shuttle, you can always take your car instead.
This is the Caribbean, power outages are a fact of life and everything happens on "Island Time". If you want instant service at the snap of your fingers, then stay at the Ritz. If you want a unique experience, with unparalled views in a lush tropical setting, then you'll love Luna Bella.

To sit on the deck of Luna Bella at the end of the day sipping a margarita while watching the sailboats and the islands and cays as the evening clouds turn pink and red is to know true vacation bliss.

PAT AND I JUST CAME BACK FROM STAYING AT YOUR PLACE IN ST. THOMAS. WHEN WE WALKED INTO YOUR PLACE AND SAW THE VIEW WE WENT WOW. THE VIEW OUT THE BACK IS AMAZING. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST PLACES WE EVER STAYED AT. WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY THAT WAS A LITTLE HARD WAS GETTING AROUND THE RESORT WAS QUITE HILLY. SOMEONE WITH NOT GOOD LEGS OR HANDICAP WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME. BUT LET ME SAY YOUR PLACE WAS VERY CLEAN AND QUITE COMFORTABLE AND WE FELT RIGHT AT HOME. PAT AND JOHNNY MAC

Great view! Rent a jeep, drive carefully and explore the island. Also recommend putting car on ferry to explore St John.
