Inside this cottage you know you are truly in Maine. The scent of pine and ocean surf mixed with the colors of the sea invites you to relax and unwind. All new furnishings surround you in comfort. Step back in time into old fashioned Maine. Minutes away are a fort from the 1600’s, the famous Pemaquid lighthouse that is on the back of the Maine quarter(coin), and a picture postcard working harbor. Eat on the deck while fresh seafood is hauled in from the boats below. Freeport and Camden for shopping, Bath and Rockland for museums, Monhegan Island, antiquing, and auctions all within an hour away.

This property is a place to get away from it all or take advantage of many unusual activities in the area. Cottage is only 150 steps through a fir tree forest to a crescent shaped white sand beach. It is set back 80 feet from the road, offering room for a game of croquet as well as wonderful privacy on the rear deck. Within walking distance of historic fort from 1600s. Local restaurants nearby. Enjoy lobster outside on the harbor deck or blueberry pancakes by Pemaquid Lighthouse. Shop at outlets in Freeport. Drive to the Wyeth Museum in Rockland, the Maritime Museum in Bath or scenic Camden all of these within an hour away. Antique/Collectibles stores abound, weekly estates auction and there is even a fun Toy Museum in the area. There is an oyster festival each year as well as the popular 'Olde Bristol Days' with a parade and fireworks. Take the Ferry (less than a mile away) to Monhegan Island,with just a short ride you are in one of the oldest artist's communities in the country.

There is the world class Owls Head Transportation Museum which is home to everything transportation related-from horse drawn sleighs and carriages to steam powered ships, WW 1 era planes, the first 'woodie wagon' and the original 1963 Ford Mustang II. The Round Top Center for the Arts with concerts, classes, lectures, art shows and an arts and crafts gallery featuring local artists. The Todd Audubon Sanctuary which includes 330- acre Hog Island, home to the oldest continuously operating adult environmental education camp in the U.S. The sanctury is home to island and mainland walking trails with a seasonal visitor's center and nature store. And of course there is just the option of watching the waves from your beach chair on the fine white sand beach......
