Newly refurbished cabin nestled in the woods. Large screened in porch with view of 555 acre lake. Enjoy pristine waters of Culver Lakes private community. Although this cottage is not lake front, you have a private dock with use of canoe, rowboat and kayak. Great spot for fishing, no gear provided. 16+ license required. Community sandy beach with great swimming, food and game room 1/2 mile from cabin. Great for kids. Life guard on duty. Seasonal activities summer/fall/winter. Close to water parks, youth theme park, ski resorts, antiquing, dining, winery. One hour from NYC. Bring your linens for 2 twin beds and one king. Extra cot and child's day bed provided. Linens available at additional charge. Great place for a relaxing, fun filled vacation. Appalachian trail nearby, excellent waterfalls, hiking, biking. Next to Stokes State Forest. $200.00 damage control security deposit required, refundable less cleaning fee upon departure inspection.

Country Log Cabin: This log cabin was built in l928 and is listed in the Historical Society. It has cathedral ceilings, stone fireplace and lots of 'old world' charm. It has been fully restored with cabin charm, is clean and comfortable. The large screened in porch off the living room is a great place to relax, play cards, enjoy a meal or a good book. View of 555 acre lake from Upper North Shore Road which backs Stokes State Forest. Internet, cable TV with VCR/DVD player is there for your enjoyment and a charcoal grill is provided. Private dock 5 minutes away with canoe, kayak and row boat for your use. Sandy beach located directly accross the lake with diving board, swings and canteen for lunch.Golf courses are 5 minutes to 30 minutes away. Affordable family restaurants close by. Easy food shopping 1 mile away. Wal-mart shopping area a 15 minute drive from the cabin. 2 beach chairs provided. Life jackets not provided for infants/young children. NO CANDLES ALLOWED PLEASE.

Culver Lake: Culver Lake is a clean spring fed natural lake nestled in the Kittatinny mountains. We are neighbored by Stokes State Forest which helps to keep our private lake community filled with an abundance of wild life to enjoy including the great Bald Eagle. Fishing is enjoyed my many, license required. Our mornings on the water are uplifting and our sunsets are peaceful and magnificent. Come enjoy sitting on our sandy beach and soak up the sun or sit under a shady tree enjoy the summer breeze. Our clean water is inviting to swim in and diving board is great fun for all.

Golf: Play 9 holes of golf at The Robins Nest Golf Club directly accross the street from the Culver Lake beach. Minutes away you will find the Chrystal Springs Golf Resort at Black Bear reachable at 973-209-2521. Farmstead Golf Club in Lafayette @ 973-383-1666. Bear Brook Golf Club in Newton @973-383-2327. Hidden Acres Gold Course 973-948-9804.

We could not have been more pleased with our recent visit to this ideal cottage...on top of the fact that this was a totally last minute decision to get away & we were not expecting to find so many of the "prefer"s that we normally look for when renting -> like seclusion/quiet, clean, affordable, screen porch, fireplace, reasonably close to home...and what was the crowning point were the owners who are exceptional hosts, they in themselves rate a 5 star :-) they could not have been more accommodating & welcoming/friendly...
This historic cottage is a treasure & the pictures do not do it justice, the architecture & craftmanship are something to behold, and the place is so well kept that you feel like you are a guest in someone's home and not just in a "rental" - overall you get a feeling of warmth, peace & contentment, which makes for a very relaxing vacation...
the screen porch especially is fantastic for relaxing and enjoying the natural surroundings - which is exactly what we did & what this vacation was for -> to rest & decompress :-)
We did manage to venture up to Sunrise Mt. which we drove up, but there are several different trails for the more adventurous, & once reaching the pkg. lot up top there is a short hike up a trail & the panoramic view is breathtaking! We are glad we got to do that & hopefully our next trip we can manage to get up there for a sunrise which I can only imagine is awesome...There seems to be quite a lot in the area for families to do but since it is just my husband & myself we don't look for much in the way of activities - although taking the boat out on the lake is something we will have at the top of our list for the next visit (God Willing) since we did not get around to it this trip...Lots of places if you like to shop/browse/antique, all within a short drive, not to mention farmers markets abound...
The Lord certainly Blessed us with finding this vacation spot and we hope to be back real soon...

great place to relax close to home. Pleanty of hikeing trails, Outstanding fireplace with lots of fire wood on hand. We will be back in the summer for a nice long weekend.

Charming Log Cabin at Culver lake

Overall we give this historic cabin a 4 1/2. We spent a week here at Culver Lake during the State Fair. Enjoyed it immensely and felt at home. Carting sheets and towels took quite a bit of room in the car so I would recommend renting them from the owners. I spoke to the owners about reading lamps for the livingroom which we enjoy in the evenings and I am sure they will supply them in the future. A small ac unit for the upstairs bedroom would make the rental a 5. The use of canoe, rowboat and kyack was a wonderful ammenity and gave us alot of hours on the Lake. We hope to return for a longer time soon. We definitely recommend this property.
