Great swimming, fishing, canoeing. Several miles of rustic wooded roads lead to Branch Point, yet it is only 45 minutes from Acadia National Park, the Maine coast and the many family fun attractions of Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and Bangor. Next best thing to Paradise

We arrived on Branch Lake during a Nor'easter in June. It rained most of the week, but what a fabulous place to be rained out (rained in?). Although there were only two of us, there was plenty of space for more without being on top of each other. The house is very clean and very well kept. The furniture is comfortable and is not the typical discarded furniture that we have found in other rentals. The appliances appear to be new (and functional) and there is even filtered water for drinking. The caretakers live nearby and were very helpful to us.

The sunroom was a real lifesaver for us since we were not able to spend much time outside. We did manage to spend some time sitting on the waterside deck, which was a very nice touch.

This lake is very quiet for those seeking a respite from high-stress living. There are roads for walking and taking in the beauty of the area (and the aroma of balsam). Of course, Acadia is a reasonably short drive away for those looking for more excitement.

In our opinion, this cottage fulfilled our needs perfectly.

A Great Place to Relax

We came from California to visit our family in the Ellsworth area. Branch Point is the perfect place for everyone to gather and enjoy the view of the lake. The property managers are wonderful and the house is spacious and clean. It was easy to launch a canoe from the sandy beach and keep it tied up at the dock. We visited two years in a row and look forward to coming again. We highly recommend Branch Point to anyone who wants a taste of what Downeast Maine has to offer.

Home Away From Home

I spent 2 weeks at Branch Point, one with my 11 year old granddaughter and her friend and the second with friends. We all found the cottage roomy, clean, well appointed and private. The spacious living room with huge windows overlooking the lake made even raining days bright and comfortable. The small sandy beach is handy for launching my kayaks and safe for small children and the dock with ladder is great for swimmers. It is difficult to choose a favorite area between the small deck over the water and the large deck attached to the cottage. Also the caretakers who live close by were very accomodating and helpful. I am already looking forward to next summer.
The cottage is also close enough for day trips to Arcadia National Park and shopping in Ellsworth. Also one of our favorites is Fort Knox in Bucksport.
