Romance was on our mind as we designed and built 'Two’s Company'. The only dwelling nestled on the banks of a one and a half acre private lake, this romantic one room suite one bath cabin is all wood inside and out. It includes a king-size bed with a two-person heart-shaped Jacuzzi beside it. A gas fireplace is in the cozy living room and it has a fully equipped kitchen. From the porch you can walk straight down to the dock or to the grill on the other side. As soon as you turn in the winding country road tightly hemmed by evergreens you will begin to feel the difference in atmosphere. You have come apart from the rest of the world and this time is just for you. Surrounding this Tennessee cabin rental is the small Mennonite community of Muddy Pond on The Cumberland Plateau.Located just ten miles north of I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville, you can rendezvous for several days of refreshment or spend your whole vacation here while exploring the beauty of the Cumberland.

You can shop in nearby Cookville or Crossville but we live in & the cabin rental is surrounded by the small Mennonite community of Muddy Pond. There are unique shops & good eating at the General Store, & Country Porch. Horse lovers will enjoy the Leather Shops & nature lovers will appreciate the serenity & natural beauty that are all around. In the fall, watch the old time sorghum mills operate. If you're staying for a bit, you may want to go farther afield to the Big South Fork which offers: Horseback Riding, Fishing, White Water Rafting and Hiking; or to Fall Creek Falls, Picket & Cumberland State parks which have: Scenic Trails, Swimming and Boating; Local Wineries, Historic Sights of the Cordell Hull birthplace, Alvin York home place or historic Rugby. Crossville offers golfing and the famous Playhouse. The Cumberland is alive with history & beauty. It's a place to relax & reflect & become acquainted with the real Tennessee. Peaceful Getaway

Cabin In the Woods was better than expected. "Two's Company" is the perfect place to kick back and relax. The personal touches made the seven days we spent in seclusion like 'Heaven'. Our long walks, feeding the fish, paddling the boat, swinging on the porch, visiting the bakery, and sampling ice cream at "The Back Porch" were only a few of the many fun activities we experienced this week. We have already talked about coming back again as soon as we can. Thank you for providing such a neat and beautifully decorated cabin for us to enjoy!!!

My Wife and I celebrated our 21st. annaversary at Muddy Pond in Monterey, and we could not have had a better time. Its impossible not to get lost in the admirable, slower paced life of this charming Mennonite/ Amish farm community.We loved the cabin, local stores, and peace and quiet. The bakery is a must; Best fresh sourdough bread I've ever eaten, fresh from the oven! We will go back. Only negative: Could not get the pilot lit on gas fireplace.

A haven in a busy world

We stayed 2 nights in this wonderful place, so peaceful and serene. No tv, telephone, nor internet, just relaxing in one another's company, enjoying our beautiful surroundings in this wooden cabin on the lake.
We are thankful to have times like this, in a place like this, to refresh ourselves in this busy, bustling world.

Weekend anniversary trip

My husband surprised me with a trip to Cabin at the Pond for our 19th wedding anniversary on Sept. 26, 2008. The cabin was absolutely wonderful! It was so quiet and peaceful. The cabin itself was very clean and well furnished. All of our cooking utensils/pots and pans/towels and washclothes were furnished along with a washer and dryer. All we had to take was our food and a desire to relax! The gazebo was awsome! It is right on the water. We fished off of the deck of the gazebo and relaxed in the swing. The back porch has a hammock chair swing and a hammock along with rocking chairs and a grill. The whole trip was perfect!! We will definitley be going back as soon as we can and would recommend it to anyone that wants to relax and reconnect. Thank you for sharing this little piece of Heaven with us!!
