This brand new 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage on Ashmere Lake has an inviting open floor plan. Great waterviews, yet plenty of privacy. Use of the association beach which includes boat launch, playground, pavilion and dock is in walking distance. Walk-in basement is great for bike storage or kayaks. Hinsdale. Ma. in the Berkshires, is a convenient 30 to 45 minute drive to Lenox, Williamstown and Northampton, as well as attractions such as Jacob's Pillow in Becket, Ma., Jiminy Peak in Hancock, Ma.,Tanglewood in Lenox, Ma. and Barrington Stage Co. in Pittsfield, Ma. Plenty of golf courses, bike and walking trails in the Berkshire, as well. The Fall is also a beautiful time of year, as the fall foliage is comparable to none other in New England. Please note: The cottage has been re-decorated. No cleaning fees.

Spacious and wonderfully located

We had a great time in this cosy and comfortable cottage in the Berkshires in October 2009. It's centrally located, though very quiet, for lots of things to see and to do. You should like to be somehow self sufficient and like to prepare your own dinner since good restaurants are not near by. But the possibilities of good shopping are not far away. We had the first snowfall on October 15 but the cottage is well heated and it was a pleasure to see the gas fireplace burn. Would like to come back some day in summer because of all the cultural events in this area.

Great getaway!

My wife and I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend with another couple and had a fantastic time. This is a beautiful 2-bedroom cottage that is a perfect getaway, and is stocked with lots of great amenities and is centrally located to everything in the Berkshires (ie-Tanglewood is 30 minutes away). The owner was fantastic, and she spared no effort in making sure that we had everything we needed. We also really appreciated her thoughtful answers to all of our questions leading up to our stay there.

One small quibble: it's been exceptionally rainy this year, so there were lots of bugs outdoors (if you're from NYC, you know how rare it is to be bombarded by bugs!). Installing a bug zapper would make sitting outdoors much more pleasant.

We had a great time, and will definitely be coming back!!
