West Virginia holiday

This mountain villa and its setting are stunning. I would say that it is exactly as described on the website and in the brochure, but it is even better. You really can't comprehend the beauty of the home or its location until you get there.

*Views* There are views from every room in the house and there are balconies, decks and porches off of almost every room. The view on one side of the house overlooks a winding river beneath a beautiful mountain range. The view on the other side of the house is of cascading waterfalls. The house sits upon a cliff over these waterfalls.

*Cleanliness and Furnishings* The house was spotless and everything appeared to be new. The house is decorated and furnished like a very nice home, and not at all like your typical rental property.

*Comfort level* All of the rooms are large and spacious. My husband and I stayed there one time by ourselves and another time with ten other members of our extended family. The walls were thick so we couldn't hear the other families at night. It was also nice because there are 2 living room spaces (one downstairs and one upstairs) so the older crowd could socialize downstairs (overlooking the mountains and river) while the younger crowd could hang out upstairs (overlooking the waterfalls) and neither disturbed the other in the least.

*Kitchen* The kitchen is beautiful. My husband and I lived in Italy for 3 years and it meets or surpasses the beauty of the nicest kitchens over there. The only downside that I could see to the kitchen is that there are not doubles of the appliances as there are in many large beach houses. However, we did stay there with a party of 12 and didn't have any problems. And I believe that if you have a really large party, you can also rent out an adjoining section of the house which would give you an additional small kitchen and dining area.

*Things to Do* This is really a house where you can get away from all the hustle and bustle and not have to worry about things to do. While at this house, all you can hear is the sound of the water cascading over the rocks below, the birds singing, and the leaves blowing in the wind. There is no road noise and there are no neighbors. If you do want to get away from the house for a little while, you can drive about 40 minutes and go hiking or horseback riding at Lost River State Park. Alternatively, you can drive 45 minutes in the opposite direction and visit Seneca Rocks where there is a very nice visitor center, a great hiking trail and even rock climbing classes available. In the town of Moorefield, about 15 minutes away, is one of my husband's and my favorite restaurants - "1843". It's a very nice "period" restaurant in a home built in 1843, and the food and ambience are superb. There's also a cinemas complex in Moorefield, a city park with swimming pool, and a Wal-Mart where you can pick up all of your essentials.

So overall, we would definitely recommend this home. It is a comfortable, inviting, luxurious home in a gorgeous mountain setting. We plan on returning again and again.
