Recreational Details : We are within a five minute drive to the Bartlett Arboretum, Stamford Historical Society, Stamford Museum & Nature Center (with an active farm and petting zoo), Sterling Farms Golf Course (public 18 hole) - the most beautiful course in Connecticut, Curtain Call Theater, Waveny House (walking/hiking trails, summer free concerts weekly, dog park, theater group), Philip Johnson's Glass House, Rich Forum Theater, UCONN - Stamford Branch, Greenwich, New Canaan and Darien are all within a 15 minute drive. Manhattan is a 45 minute drive or train ride.

Heaven an Hour from NYC

We stayed at this house for a month this fall and had a wonderful time. The yard, flowers, privacy was more than we had expected. A family of turkeys graced the yard every morning and our children delighted in the birds, squirrels, rabbits, deer, baby fox all frolicking through the yard or watching them through the windows. It was like being at a nature center. We were 5 minutes from everything that we needed and there were lots of museums, gardens, parks, playgrounds all within a very short drive. With no shortage of things to do the time really flew. The house was in immaculate condition with new kitchen appliances lots of space and plenty of light. It was quiet and surrounded by trees that must be over a 100 years old. If you want a respite from city life, you can't beat this house. We have already booked a month next year.
Owner's Response: Thanks. This house is perfect for families with small children who want to live amidst a nature habitat and still be convenient to stores, restaurants, movies, etc. With winter approaching and snow on the horizon, you can cross-country ski at the public golf course - a two minute drive or enjoy downhill skiing less than an hour away.

Gorgeous Setting & A Wonderful House

We stayed at this house for the month of May and part of June this year and can't say enough about how fantastic it was. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and it was spotless. The property is unbelievably beautiful with trees over a 100 years old. The house is almost that old as well but it feels brand new inside. Everything is up to date, modern and the kitchen appliances were all brand new. The house had so much room both inside and out that we all had plenty of privacy. I would highly recommend this house to a family or to 3 couples who want to do a share. We found that we were a short drive to everything and it was easy to go to NYC.

Christmas in Connecticut

We had such a wonderful time at this charming historic home. It was just like the movie. Fireplaces, lots of wonderful vistas, incredibly clean and well maintained and with everything we needed, including all the stuff to roast a goose for Christmas dinner with all the fixings. Our children were particularly charmed by the decorated Xmas tree - about 10 feet tall. We had a few snow storms, enough to make a snowman and watch turkeys and deer frolicking in the snow. We were very convenient to everything and drove to NYC in 45 minutes to spend a day. The owners were very welcoming, accommodating and helped us out with finding a babysitter and restaurant recommendations for New Year's Eve. We would highly recommend this property and would love to be able to go back again.
