Located in Hawaiian Shores Subdivision, a 30 min. scenic drive south of the Hilo airport. Our neighborhood is lush, quite and serene. Hale Sweet Hale is tastefully decorated with an Island flare, for the feel of home in paradise. So whether you are looking to stay for vacation or work, you will find our home has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Our 3 bdrm two baths home has an open living and dining area which opens onto a large furnished screened in lanai where you can enjoy outside eating or just sit, relax and enjoy the feel of paradise. Our full kitchen has all you need for your cooking and dining needs. Delight in the sounds of nature and the tropical view from every window. Take a walk or drive a mile down the road and you will come to our beautiful ocean front park with picnic tables and lots of coconut palms. Enjoy the gorgeous ocean view and listen to the surf crashing on the lava rocks or watch the whales when they are migrating to the Hawaiian waters. Bring yourself and your coffee and watch the beautiful sunrises. Five minutes away is the laid back town of Pahoa where the sidewalks are wooden. Here you will find supermarket, gift shopping and many restaurants from Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, etc. A 15-minute drive will bring you to the gorgeous Ahalnui Beach Park where you can relax in the 90+ degree geothermal heat tide pool while listening to the surf crashing on the other side. Some of the best snorkeling can be found at Wai Opae tide pools in Kapoho just minutes from our home. Day trips include a visit to Volcanoes National Park, Waipio Valley, and Hilo. Just a 2 ½ hours drive and you can be on the other side of the island.

Mt two teenagers and I had a wonderful time in Hawaii. We spent three days on the Kona side and 4 days on the Hilo side of the island. (it wasn't long enough!) We want to come back as soon as we can. My kids have not stopped talking about it (even though it has been five months). Jacqueline had the place in perfect shape and she thought of everything! I would absolutely rent this home again. It was great!

There were four of us staying for two weeks. We found the home to be very clean, comfortable and lived up to its discription. It is in a quiet neighborhood and though you must drive eveywhere it is not an out-of -the-way location. The tide pools are within a 20 minute drive but I must admit we never did find that nude beach, much to our wives delight.
The owners are friendly,helpful and accomidating.
There is nearby snokeling and you are close enough Hilo to enjoy what the city has to offer.
We have recommended this home to our friends who want to spend some time in the Hilo area.
During our stay the weather was almost perfect with only one day of rain.
We hope to come back again someday and stay here when we do.

A Definite Home Away From Home

Hale Sweet Hale was our home away from home. The owners thought of everything that would be needed for a vacation home. It was neat, clean, and had a very warm, homey feeling the minute we walked in. And actually, the pictures on line didn't do the house justice. The only regret we had was that we didn't really get to enjoy the house as much as we would have liked due to trying to get to see everything on the Big Island. Our favorite place in the house was the lanai. What a place to relax! Pahoa is about a 30 minute drive from Hilo so if you don't mind the drive, Hale Sweet Hale is a wonderful home away from home. Mahalo.

Hale Sweet Hale is well-stocked and quaint with all the necessary comforts of today's lifestyles. The home comfortably accommodated our family (5 adults and 1 toddler). We also entertained family and friends who thoroughly enjoyed the home-like, relaxing ambience of the property.

The commute from the airport and downtown Hilo was about 30 minutes, which was very convenient.

Hale Sweet Hale is the ideal vacation rental home for us and we would definitely return at our next opportunity.

Hale Sweet Hale was everything we needed.

This home was well-kept, well-stocked, immaculately clean, comfortable, and cozy. Each of the rooms has a ceiling fan with dimmable lights, which gave us a lovely cooling breeze when it seemed warm or muggy (we are from a cooler climate). The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cookware; the furnishings were clean and comfortable; and the towels were nice and fluffy. While some may find this home to be a little off the beaten track, we thought it made a great home base for exploring the Hilo area, Akaka Falls, the geothermally heated hot pond at the coast, the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, and the Kapoho Tide Pools (the fish and coral there are AWESOME!). We really appreciated having snorkeling gear and a cooler provided--it made our days out and about with the kids so much more convenient. In short, this home had everything we could have asked for.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers
