Our River House sits on 2 private acres, private fishing dock on a tail water river (Watauga), one of only two trophy trout sections in the entire state of Tenn. Whether a family getaway, Honeymoon or Anniversary, Artist, Church Retreat or Executive retreat you will find everything you need. Our river house is all about class, fully furnished with leather furniture , Tiffany lamps, hardwood floors, fireplace, pool table, wet bar, flat screen TV, stainless steel double ovens, double sided refrig. and great deck overlooking a breathtaking setting on 2 private acres with a Redwood Tree (only one we know of in East Tennessee), walnut, chestnut, Japanese Lantern and cherry trees. Our private fishing dock and over 300 feet of private river frontage is a rarity to experience. Bring the kids while you sit and watch them play in a setting that will take you back to the good ole days. Listen to nature by the rushing river carrying with it a cool breeze. We are located within 14 miles of Bristol Motor Speedway. Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville, N.C. and the Beech & Sugar Mtn Ski Resorts are all within 45 minutes. Watauga Lake only takes 20 minutes. Gatlinburg and Sevierville, Tenn. are within a 1 hour drive. Roan Mtn. State Park within 40 minutes, water falls, hiking, shopping, restaurants all are within easy reach. The Jonesborough Storytelling Festival is the first week of October, Wooly Worm Festival in Western North Carolina and Grandfather Mountain are great to visit. Our area is great for those who love nature.

Trophy Trout River: The Cherokee named our river the 'Watauga' which means 'beautiful waters'. We think you will agree with the name they chose when you see and feel our sweet spot on the river!

Motor Cyclists Dream: Our area is perfect for those avid motor cyclists . We have a fully paved flat area to bring your bikes on trailer if you want and with a two car garage to conveniently and securely park your bikes to boot. The Shady Valley area is our recommendation to start off and then adventure around the Watauga Lake area. You will love the no fuss riding in our area...it is absolutely beautiful.

Boat and Lake Adventures: Within 20 minutes of our river house you will find the beautiful Watauga Lake. They offer boat, jetski and water equipment rentals. This makes for a great fun time and end your day eating at the Watauga Lake's Restaurant 'The Captains Tavern'. Their view is to die for!

Ski: Beech Mountain & Sugar Mountain are the closest ski lift area's (that is about 40 to 45 minutes away).

Golf: Elizabethton Golf Course is the closest public access and then there is Buffalo Valley in Johnson City.

Other Activities: Fly Fishing, Rafting, tubing, kayaking

Great Vacation Spot

I was amazed at how "user friendly" the house was. There were notes placed around the house that were very helpful. Spices and coffee filters and a many other things I completely forgot to bring were already there. For the things that weren't there were at least 3 grocery stores including a super Wal-Mart within 10 minutes of the location. The views were beautiful, and a handy guide of local attractions and restaurants was available if you wanted to explore the town. The house was clean and had plenty of room for our 11 guests (8 adults and 3 children). I would gladly plan another family get together at this location.

We try our best to create a place for warm fuzzy memories for family and friends get togethers. It was just us and our two boys 6&8. The home was beautiful! It was clean, maintaned, had everything you need from a blender to extra space heaters. The owner is very nice and accomodating. I arrived and found the TV did not have many channels available, She called right away and had it fixed with in an hour. We had a wonderful time there, we even got to see snow! (in April!) We did a lot of hiking, there are several waterfalls closeby. I greatly appreciated the brochures and maps available. We visited bristol caverns, Gray fossil museum, Great expedition, grandfather mountain (NC). All were very close and worth the visit. We are already planning a return trip with another couple and their children.
Owner's Response: Looking forward to having you experience so much more that the East Tenn area has to offer on your next visit with us! Tweetsie Railroad and Doe River Gorge are other great experiences for children and adults.

This was by far the nicest and coziest home away from home get-away my Family has ever experienced! We were all fascinated at how much room there was as well as all of the different things to do, just at the house! Definetly something for everyone. The River was so beautiful, the Family fished, and the Girl's swam. The purpose of our trip was for my Husband's 50th B-day, he got to Drive around the Bristol Motor Speedway! We choose to have our Family accompany us in experiencing this awesome endeavor. Everyone was so proud I found the River House, it was positively perfect! Would love an opportunity to come back in the Fall of the year to experience all of Nature's color.

We stayed in your lovely house when I returned to the area for my 50th. h.s. Reunion. What a lovely, peaceful, restful place. The house is located near everything; yet, very private and in a beautiful setting. We loved the river!
Hopefully, we can return someday with our grandchildren to show them where their Gramma grew up. They would love it!
Thank you for all your "special" touches which made us feel right at home. We had plenty of room with us on the main level and our guests downstairs. Lots of room to spread out and not get in each other's way. Perfect!!

This is a great house for families! There is so much room and something to please everyone. We throughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return sometime in warmer weather to experience the river. The Frost's have gone out of their way to make this home comfortable and fun! You won't be disapointed!
