Playa Flamingo has resorts, restaurants, night clubs, casino's, grocery store, and a pharmacy. It is located 1 hour from Liberia Airport and 20 minutes away from a local airport in Tamarindo. Live the peaceful condominium lifestyle when you want and the resort lifestyle when you want. You will have access to the Flamingo Beach Resort with its oceanfront pool with a swim up bar and a children's pool. Along with the use of pool tables, tennis courts, and a casino. The Flamingo beach and the resort is a 5 minute walk from the condo. The condo is decorated by a custom designer with all the amenities. Each room has its own air conditioner for your comfort. There is a ocean view pool and fitness center on site. The kitchen has a coffee maker, microwave, stove, refrigerator, utensils, & a toaster. Flamingo is known for its sports fishing and there are several championship golf courses. There is tropical dry forests with monkeys and birds. You can snorkel, horseback ride, go on a canary tour.

Get away from everything and relax with the beach: Flamingo is a quaint town were there is no hurry or stress. Just relax and do what you want. Relax by the pool or beach or just explore the tropical forest to find birds and monkeys. Go on a tour or just have lunch at a local restaurant on the beach. You can take a snorkeling tour or go on a boat or take a bike ride or a hike. You could go to the local surf town in Tamarindo about 20 minutes away and surf, eat, shop, or stroll on the beach. There is a golf course nearby. Just enjoy and get away from everything.

Restaurants: There are several good restaurants in Flamingo. I would recommend Marie's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Mar e Sol to watch the sunset for a more formal dinner. Amberes across from the condo that has a restaurant and a night club. There are also several restaurants in Brasalito and surfside which is a 5 minute drive.

Activities: Flamingo is known for its sports fishing and there are several championship golf courses. There is also many local activities to do such as snorkeling, horseback riding, ATC riding, canopy tour, the mangrove estuary tour, and checking out the fabulous beaches. Or do the full day tours to Arenal Volcano, the Tabacon spa, and the Monte Verde Cloud Forest.

Golf: There is several championship golf courses designed by top golfers. The Arnold Palmer course at the four seasons. The Robert Trent Jones course at Paradisis Playa Conchal, The Hacienda Pinilla, and many others.

Stayed at mary's condo week of Nov 22nd 2008. had a lovely time. Such a nice warm place to stay. My Kids loved having there own room & TV. loved making breakfast in the am. and taking in the local places for lunch & dinner. Mar Y Sol is a great place to est (we had Thanksgiving dinner there) the Monkey bar across the street was fun also (2 for 1 happy hour!) also used all the Facilities at the Flamingo resort, great place to watch the sun set and use there large pool. We'll be Back !
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Fabulous fishing adventure

We arrived at the condo and were in awe when we walked in. There is a fabulous view of the water and the place had a homey feeling to it.It was nice to make our chorizo and eggs and our coffee in the morning. Then we met our fishing guide in the parking lot of the condo and we fished for 3 days. The 3 of us caught 4 sailfish, 3 mahi mahi, and 150 lbs of yellow fin tuna. We cooked our fresh fish in the kitchen and it melted in our mouth. We also enjoyed the access to the beachfront resort. We sat at the swim up bar and then we went to the casino and did a little gambling. The fast pace of the resort and the quiet hominess of the condo made it very enjoyable.

Wonderful Stay

We had a great time during our March 2008 vacation in this unit. The furnishings are very pleasant, the condo is very clean and the area is mostly quiet. Our young adult son stayed with us and felt he had a lot of privacy as the bedrooms are separated by a living area. The free laundry facility was a nice bonus and having an ATM on the street level was convenient. Flamingo is a small community, but we found it quite relaxing. We'd definitely stay here again.

Playa Flamingo -Sunset Heights Condo

Feb. 2008 four of us were at the condo. It is lovely and the curtains and furnishings of great quality. Loved having our own spacious bedroom, walk in closet and private ensuite. Also our own tv as well as one in the other bedroom and living room! Great idea! Great shower and bathroom as well. The other couple equally enjoyed their room.

The property manager was very personable and easy to deal with - of Gold Coast proprerty mgmt.

We enjoyed the resort pool we had rights to and their faciilties. It is on a short but very steep hillside. Great view from the condo.

Our only fault we found was it is a little noisy from the road morning and evening. But close the doors and use AC. That is why the 4 stars. Also free laundry included. Bonus!
Excellent clean appliances, microwave, fridge etc.

Between Playa flamingo and tamarindo we loved Flamingo. We were lucky!! Did a private 4 hr. snorkelling cruise on Vagabonda - awesome! Catch an awesome sunset and dinner (twice we ate there and it was an event each time!) at Mar y sol at top of hill. Very very special. You will have a great holiday here. The beaches have hardly anybody and they call it crowded! Lots to do for day trips as well. Sue
