The famous Kohala Coast, one of Hawaii’s sunniest destinations, lies on a 20-mile stretch of coastline interspersed with pocket beaches on the northwestern shore of the Big Island. The diverse activities offered along this coastline makes this one of the most impressive destinations on earth: seven of Hawaii’s top golf courses, best deep-sea fishing in the world, a morning of skiing down a snow-topped volcano only to sun yourself on a beautiful sandy beach that same afternoon. This vacation property is within minutes of Hapuna Beach, voted one of the best beaches in the country. You also have access to all of the high-end resort beaches nearby located along the Kohala Coast (all have public access even if you are not a guest at the hotel) such as the Hapuna Prince Hotel, Mauna Kea Resort, Fairmont Orchid Resort, Maua Lani Resort, Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort, etc. The small harbor town of Kawaihae is located 3 miles south along the coast and has many fine restaurants and shops.

The front entrance double doors open up to a bamboo covered barrel vault entrance foyer. The double masters at each end of the home boast ocean view lanais. Each secondary bedroom opens up to private garden lanais. The gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances and adjacent over sized bar are perfect for entertaining, as they overlook the great room with a soaring wood ceiling and big screen television. The carved wood dining table overlooks the ocean and comfortably seats 8 people. Custom wood and leather furniture in every room complement the rich cabinets and finishes, and provide a rich and 'contemporary' island lifestyle.

The resort style lava swimming pool is surrounded by natural slate, lava rock, and palm trees. The views from the pool and residence are elevated 30' above grade to maximize the panoramic views of the ocean. For your additional entertainment a 5 hole miniature golf course surrounds the residence offering enjoyment for guests of all ages.

We want to thank you so much for the most wonderful time we had in your incredible home for the best vacation in our lives.
Your home with its amazing view of the ocean , even when we showered, was the next best thing to Paradise. The home was so spacious and because we had 7 people, everyone had enough room to do everything they wanted..
When we opened the doors on every side, I might add it was as though we were sleeping under the stars. The breezes were everything I imagined about Hawaii. I could not sleep long enough because I wanted up just to enjoy the morning sunrises and to have coffee on the Lanai every day.
This was the first family vacation for us as my kids are now adults and could not say enough about the beauty of your home and Hawaii. I hope someday they can enjoy it again with their family as much as we did.
Again, I hope we left your beautful home as clean as we found it and amazing order when we left Paradise, because we surely appreciated all the comforts you provided.
My brother-in-law , David hopes to come back over REAL SOON to enjoy his life long dream, to go deep sea fishing as often as he can.He could not say enough about the trip with you on your boat and just to see the whales and dolphins swimming was a sight he will always remember.
I could go on and on but I will stop, Thank you again for the best vacation of our life...

Dear Darrell & Angela,

We want to thank you for the wonderful time we had in your beautiful home! What a special place to celebrate 25 years!

What an incredible home and view! We LOVED opening up the house and letting the trade winds cool the house. Every home in Kohala Ranch should do the same thing.

When we got to your home, we first decided on the master with the king size bed because we have one at home. Because we are shower people and the other room opened up in the bathroom and two walls of the bedroom opened up, we sacrificed the "sleeping space" for the other room. We loved it so much, we just stayed in that room the whole visit. It was just like sleeping outside!! I LOVED IT! The stars are right there, and the breezes keep you cool and when you wake up, the ocean is there to enjoy.

Plus, the shower is AWESOME!! How many people can take a shower and overlook the ocean!

I don't want to go on and on and bore you with details about your home that you have enjoyed yourselves, but I could!! We truly enjoyed every moment, and even after nine days we had a hard time leaving. We are so happy we found your home online, and we came to love the "sunny side" of the big island very much. It is amazing the difference in the two sides
of the island. It wouldn't have even felt like a vacation on the Hilo side. We were over there 2 days, and another day on a helicopter ride, and it was RAINING a lot every time. We could hardly wait to get back to the sunny side of the island.

We absolutely loved your home. We hope we left it in order enough when we left, that you can tell we appreciated our stay and the comforts and beauties your home offers.

We would like to rent your home another week! Unfortunately not for us, but for our top employee and his family. We give him many bonuses throughout the year, and after a couple of days we decided if he was interested in a trip, we'd love to send him to your home for a week. We called him and needless to say, he was very excited. We know they would enjoy it, and we don't hesitate at all in sending them to your home.

Please tell your wife and kids how much we love your home. Our stay was incredible, and we will never forget it.
