Home-Away-From-Home Near Hooper's Bay

We stayed in the Blue Marlin villa and appreciated having accomodations with all the amenities of home, coupled with convenient proximity to clean, clear, swimming-pool-like Hooper's Bay. If a small problem arose, the onsite caretaker was quick and friendly to resolve it. Sue is attentive to her renters, and I would definitely recommend the villas to others. At the bay, we had neon trumpet fish and a huge black manta ray swim right next to us; we saw dolphins in the distance. Part of the beach access is sort of steep and slippery with pine needles, palm leaves, round sticks and rocks. I'm a very non-athletic klutz, but handled it alright as long as my husband held my hand. The average person probably wouldn't have much of a problem. The bay is certainly worth a little effort! It was very memorable and we loved it! Thank you Sue and Bill!

The Cottage was everything it was described to be, clean, and fully equipped. The beach was a little further to walk to than we were told but still just across the road. Great vacation and a lovely cottage to return to at the end of each day. The island is beautiful and friendly.

You will Love this place EXUMA

The villa was well equipped, with most of the things you need to have even beach chairs! Susan was always there and available whenever I called, and the place is adorable and well kept.
I am very happy with my stay at hoopers Bay Villas and I would recommend it to anyone plus price was reasonable!

Great alternative to staying in Georgetown

We had a lovely stay at Hoopers Bay Villas during August '08. Our alternative option was staying at one of the hotels in Georgetown, which would have been a third as much room at two or three times the price. We ended up being very pleased with our choice.
The villa itself was roomy and nicely appointed. A market just down the road was convenient and it was nice to be able to prepare meals at home.
The beach at Hooper's Bay is just across the road. There is no formal beach access, but it's fairly straightforward to cut through an abandoned lot. This beach is spectacular and very private. The sand is like talcum powder and the water is perfectly calm and clear. It was absolutely one of the best parts of our trip and we could hardly force ourselves to leave.
I recommend renting a car (also very affordable) to check out Georgetown and/or the evening fish fries. Sue at Hoopers Bay Villas was kind enough to set up the rental car for us in advance, and the staff at Don's Rental Cars was very accommodating.

Recently, family and friends visited Exuma Island for a friends wedding. Due to the high cost of hotels on the Island, some of us rented two villas. Each was 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. They were nicely furnished. They were convienently located betweeen the airport and Georgetown. They are within walking distance of a nice beach area. We were the only ones on the beach everytime we went. If you want a nice and affordable place to stay, this is it. A rental car is recommended. It is much cheaper than the taxis on the Island.
