This 2,200 sq.ft. Cape owned by our family since 1931, is situated on 50 wooded acres in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western MA, 2 hr west of Boston/20 min west of Northampton. Built by Lt. Joseph Rhodes in 1792 & kept in his family until 1931, the 1st floor of this restored farmhouse features two large living rooms and a large bedroom. Upstairs, there are 2 large bedrooms with wide plank floors. Each has a king bed & one has a master bath. All have original hand cut peg, post & beams exposed. The house has a new fully equipped kitchen and adjoining dining room which features walls paneled with “King’s Boards”. There is a new bathroom along with a new laundry room with washer and dryer. There is a large yard featuring large Sugar Maples lining the front lawn and 2 large side lawns. One side has a comfortable open porch and a picnic table. There is a large hayfield behind the house along with our 2 old barns. At night, the hayfields allow for a “big sky” stargazing view.
