Incredible Views

This place has the most amazing views in a place we have ever stayed by the ocean including Hawaii. The upstairs master bedroom feels like you are in a boat with water everywhere! The decor is warm and comfortable. We stayed during the winter and really enjoyed the stormwatching - something not to miss on the Oregon coast. The only downside of this place is the kitchen - somewhat small and outdated but certainly functional and reasonably equipped. Also would nice to have wireless internet. We look forward to staying here again.

Fantastic Get-Away!

From the first "WOW" after we entered the house and saw the view of the ocean from the living room window, we were hooked on Whale Vista. The house is extremely comfortable and well-decorated with many interesting antiques, quality furtniture and some just fun treasures! The fireplace was especially nice and cozy on a couple of chilly mornings.

We enjoyed whale watching from all the bedrooms, the living room and the large back deck and we were lucky to be there when the whales were very active. The binoculars provided by the owners was a very welcome touch. The location of the house is nice and quiet yet handy to Highway 101, with an excellent position between Lincoln City and Newport, but we loved coming back to Whale Vista every day and enjoying everything it has to offer. The center of Depoe Bay is just a quick walk away for the shops, restaurants,whale watch center and boat tours. We hated having to leave and look forward to a repeat visit!

Captain, there be whales!

Roomy ocean front home with panoramic views of Depoe Bay from every room. Saw whales every day, seals and sea lions several times, and a bald eagle hunting right in front of the house--owner provides multiple binoculars. Fun to watch the fishermen land the catch of the day in front of the house too! Had coffee daily on the west, ocean-side porch, and appreciated the covered deck on the north side when it was misty. Nice base of operations for our week, convenient to Newport, the central coast state parks, and the Lincoln Beach area but well out of the hustle and bustle of a tourist area. Plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor spots to read, play games, and watch wildlife. Connected 3 laptops with ease. Our adult daughter -- i.e., princess -- was charmed by the canopy bed upstairs. We'd definitely rent this great place again! (Only one caution for those 55+ is the 10 or so stairs and ascending walkway from the flat parking space to the entry. Not a problem for our age 55 and 56 knees, but still worth being aware of.)

Comfortable & Cozy for any weather

My college buddy and I were looking for a coastal home located for easy sightseeing access, and this property exceeded our expectations. The beautiful furnishings and comfortable beds were a plus. The view is at once breathtaking and calming. This place is ideal for couples. My only regret is having to leave so soon. I'll definitely be back.
