We stayed the first half of our vacation on St. Thomas and the second half in this home on St. John. We regretted not spending the entire time at this house! It is a difference of night and day in the quality of the housing, the people and the beauty that surounds you. You find the locals all friendly. Especially the owners of this home!
We would have to rate this home as better then expected! We were extremely pleased. It's a duplex but you do not feel like you are in an apartment at all, from the moment you walk through the gate and down the beautifully landscaped stairs that line the mountain side. Beauty surrounds you at every turn! The home, the grounds, the view are all beautiful. And the owners give you as much privacy as you want. They are non intrusive.
Their home is nice sized and positioned near the top of a mountain. It is fairly new and furnished with modern furnishings with great attention to detail.
The owners Jane and Larry, are very friendly and kind. They try to fore see your every need.
The views are absolutely spectacular and breath taking. There are no words to describe the beauty you will wake up to every day your there.
You will hate to leave and try to figure out ways to come back again!
They have a guest book there, from prior guests that is full of glowing pages. NOT ONE BAD REVIEW! It dates back to 2003 with the majority of guest as repeat visitors. Which after staying there ourselves we see why... we will be back too!
The only stress you will find there, are the roads. Do prepare yourself in advance for a challenge with the driving. They drive on the left side of the road, and they are VERY STEEP with MANY hairpin turns. We rented scooters and were very glad did. We have tried driving cars on the opposite side of the road, especially when the lanes are skinny and the terrain is mountainess...it is very overwhelming. The scooters were far easier. It is like riding a bike without the effort!
Now THE BEACHES! There are no words to describe how beautiful the beaches are, and they are everywhere! White sand, small waves, lots of coves... absolutely beautiful.
Bring your camera and keep it on you! We took about 300 pictures and every one of them is breath taking!
This home is worth every penny.... actually more. We felt we got far more then what we paid for!
