This vacation rental is a self-contained building adjacent to a clay artist studio and home. It is 658 square feet in size and is located on a 9000 square foot lot. Kailua Beach is two blocks from this rental (a five to seven minute walk). The owner and resident artist has work in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Renwick Gallery.

Super fantastic! enjoyed our stay!

The studio was presented to us in a super clean fashion with a touch of class to all finishings and the surrounding environment. The studio was stocked with everything that you need to enjoy your stay. The private secure driveway was a delightful suprise as most rentals only have unsecured street parking. Kailua is the place to be, close to everything, and far enough away from the chaos of Waikiki (our opinion). The best beaches on the island are all walking distance away!
Douglas was a wonderful host and made the extra effort to accomodate our requests for information regarding tourist destination spots,restaurants and killer BFRD'S!!!!!!

Staying at the studio is all about the ALOHA.....

Great place to stay

I must admit we were a little anxious upon driving up to this place that's in an ordinary neighborhood, but were very pleasantly surprised at this great little rental. It has everything you need, it's bright and well equipped and the beds are comfortable. Great for 2-3 people. We had 5 and it was do-able but took a while to get ready every morning with one bathroom! You definitely need to rent a car, but I think you should anyway so you can tour this fantastic island and see all the stunning scenery. There was a neighborhood party one night and some people were yelling, but you can get that anywhere. If you want to get away from the swarms of people and hustle and bustle of Waikiki, this is a great choice. Only a 20 minute drive into Honolulu (except at rush hour). Be sure to eat at Buzz's at least once!

Fantastic Rental - Highly Recommend

This is one of the most unique, comfortable and convenient rentals I have ever done! You are in a classic beach town atmosphere with the benefit of living in an art gallery! The rental is artistically beautiful and well equipped. It's an easy walk to beaches that are some of the best in Hawaii. You're close enough to visit Waikiki and the North Shore, but you don't have to - there's plenty to do locally. You will feel like you're in a real Hawaian neighborhood which is part of it charm. I highly recommend this wonderful Clay Art Rental. (I had never ventured past Waikiki in other trips and I was stunned at how wonderful Kailua is. I would go back in a heart beat!)

Clean and beautiful place

My husband, our 11 year old son and I stayed at this cottage for 3 nights. The place was very clean and had great lighting. The ceramic artwork throughout the cottage was quite stunning and definitely added a lot of characters to the place. The shower was wonderful. The ceiling fans and two air conditioners made the place very pleasant. It only took us 5 minutes to walk to the beautiful Kailua beach. You'll need to rent a car to get from the airport to this place but parking is free (unlike Waikiki). Check out downtown Kailua. There are lots of restaurants and shops. The owner also gave us lots of tips on hiking trails, kayaking places and dining options. I highly recommend this place.
