"Shhh - don't tell anyone, we want to keep this place all to ourselves..."
Property.
The property is exactly as shown on the website, absolutely beautiful. There are two reasonably sized bedrooms, with private bathrooms. The living area is essentially an outdoor veranda, where you will spend most of your time. The kitchen is small but adequate. The grounds are well maintained given the arid climate at the time we were there. The pool is small, and given that it is located under trees, constantly covered with leaves, despite the caretaker's attempts to keep it clean. However, it is a welcome place to cool off. The beach is magnificent. You could walk in either direction all day without reaching the end. Also, there is hardly anyone on the beach. The character of the beach changes considerably throughout the day as the tide changes. At times it is good for swimming, and at other times, for light surfing. It alone is worth the visit.
Service.
The property comes with a night watchman, a groundskeeper and the caretaker that will cook and clean for you. They live on the property and are absolutely wonderful people who took care of our every need. They were a big part in making this a wonderful vacation.
Things to do.
The best thing to do here is absolutely nothing, other than walking on the beach or swimming. But if you must, there are a few day trips that you can take. We enjoyed Leon.
Suggestions.
A car is almost mandatory. If you plan to do much driving a 4x4 should be considered. The roads anywhere other than the main highway are challenging to say the least.
Purchase as many groceries (other than sea food), as you can in Managua, before heading to the property. Although there are some small stores within a half-hour drive of the property, they are not as good as the main stores in Managua. Managua is a “good” hour + drive from the property.
US dollars are widely accepted with exchange rates almost as good as the banks. However, as everywhere else, keeping some local currency on hand is recommended.
Overall.
Ideal spot for two couples.
Good place to get away from it all for a totally relaxing vacation - and to do nothing!!
Two weeks a must.
One of the few places we would go back to, and we have been to many other places in this wide and wonderful world.
