The Blue Dolphin comfortably accommodates 13 people on two floors, or 4 people if you rent one floor. Beautiful, clean beach, exceptional views -- a great place for all ages to make lasting vacation memories. Wake to the sound of the surf, enjoy the sunrise over the ocean -- from your pillow or your private deck. The 2nd floor kitchen comes in handy for early risers or late-nighters. Bring your favorite bubble bath, fill the double tub, turn on the jets and unwind. The 'Dolphin Room' is popular among the children with a bunkbed, tables for games or puzzles, TV with DVD player, comfy loveseat sofa and ample floor space. Fishing pier, 4-wheel-drive beach access, public boat ramp, museum, aquarium, arcade, restaurants nearby. Kayak, surf board and bike rentals also nearby. Take the ferry to Southport, enjoy the Wilmington riverfront. Quiet and relaxing or action-packed. You choose.

We're located at the southern end of Pleasure Island, between Fort Fisher and Carolina Beach. A 20-minute drive to Historic Wilmington riverfront for great dining, shopping, antiquing, sightseeing tours, museums and the NC Battleship. Take a 3-minute drive to the Fort Fisher-Southport Ferry and spend the day at Southport. Drive 25 minutes to the Westfield Independence Mall in Wilmington. Check out the Island Gazette newspaper for local festivities.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Dolphin. It couldn't have been more accommodating especially having two families of very young children. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect. The separation of families at night and early morning was great! (Half were early risers - the others, not so early) Having a small kitchen on the top level was perfect for us too. We feel very fortunate to have found the Blue Dolphin on VRBO and would highly recommend it. Choosing a home on the ocean was another good choice of ours. I'm so glad we didn't choose a place 2 or 3 streets in.

The Blue Dolphin is our FAVORITE place to stay along the North Carolina coast! The house has fantastic views of the ocean, and we especially love the sound of the surf keeping us company all day long. The house has a great layout. If you're cooking in the kitchen, you're still a part of the action in the living room; and yet you can find some privacy in any of the bedrooms or on one of the two decks with full view of the ocean. You may even spot a dolphin or two when you're outside on the decks! The only downside to the Blue Dolphin is leaving it at the end of vacation!

We spent a week at the Blue Dolphin, we found the house to be very clean, comfortable and a great location. The town is quiet and friendly. The beach, better than the Jersey shore!

Love the Beach, Love the view, Love the area, Love the company. What more is there to say? Such a nice place to relax and have fun. The house is great, plenty of room for everyone. And right on the Beach. The morning sunrises are so beautiful. Shell hunting is great too!

I spent a week here in July 2006 and enjoyed myself immensely. It had a marvelous view of the ocean and I went to sleep listening to the sound of the surf. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything I could possibly need to enjoy my visit. I hope to visit again in the near future.
