Perched on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the undeveloped island of Great St James, Cabrita Cliff House is one of the newest additions to the St. Thomas repertoire of fine Villas. From the moment you open the doors you are swept to the sea by the alluring infinity pool and panoramic view. Waves swirl dramatically on the rocks below. You could watch them for hours. A spiral staircase leads you down the cliff to the second level accommodations: Trade Winds blow almost endlessly around and through the house. Although the villa is fully air-conditioned, you probably do not want to use it, especially if you like being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. We love to watch turtles and tarpon on the reef below and seabirds flying by (we're are at pelican height) not to mention para-sailors from the Ritz Carlton, which is a 5 minute ride away with its fine dining, shops and spa. Notes: The Villa is appointed with beautiful travertine marble floors and mahogany doors. All bedrooms have private bath with glass vessel sinks, marble showers, flat screen TVs with DVD player and fabulous views from the terrace of each room. The Master-bedroom has a whirlpool bath and is tiled with gorgeous red Italian marble. Two of the two bedrooms are on the lower level with another full kitchen and living/dining room. This could be used for a 2 bedroom suite for a couple with children. The Media room has a 63' screen with a library of DVDs The large Living-room with it's vaulted cypress ceiling opens through 16 foot sliding pocket doors to a covered terrace for dining or just lounging with an uninterupted view of the islands and sea beyond. You can really absorb the natural beauty of the Virgin Islands at Cabrita Cliff House, from the wind, water and wildlife to the breathtaking rosy fingered dawns and spectacular sunsets. We have it all!

America's Cup Suite Amenities: The America's Cup Suite is located downstairs. It has a separate, outside staircase to enter or is accessible from upstairs via a spiral staircase. The views are beautiful and the Suite is very quiet and private, truly a getaway within a getaway. The A.C. Suite has a full mahogany and stainless kitchen with granite counter-tops, a dining room/ living room with a full sized sofa bed and a king-sized bed in the separate bedroom. There is a private bath as well. It is adjacent to 'Australia.,' separated by large, arched mahogany doors. This arrangement is very suitable to a couple with small children, who would like ''en suite' at night or with older children that they would like immediately next door. 'Australia' is also convenient for a nanny.

We've just returned from a 5 day stay at this wonderful villa and were very sad to leave and move on to more "ordinary" accommodations. The house is beautiful, the views are magnificent and the owners are wonderful people. They are very concerned that your stay is a great one and very responsive to any questions/problems. The house lives up to its pictures like no other!

My husband and our three twenty-something children stayed at the Cabrita Cliff Haus in February. The views from the veranda, pool and bedrooms are amazing. The house is beautiful and well-designed. It is private yet convenient. We rented an SUV and were about 5 minutes from Red Hook, the Ritz, etc. There is no beach but the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below is mesmerizing. If Silvia is available, she is a wonderful chef.
