If you want a fabulous experience you will have it in this rental....everywhere the craftsmanship in ceramics,design,art. views is appreciated, the possibility of opening the entire house,first floor as well as the second through folding doors, wooden shutters and beautiful porch off the main bedroom exists. This open porch is completely private...The view is panaramic....no other houses face you, no people walking past the house.It is the last of only 3 other houses on this grass lane. SAFE....EXCLUSIVE...QUIET & FUN.... The there is a slight drop off of 15 feet to the RIO NEGRO river which flows gently usually, or excitingly when it rains.The second floor porch is fabulous and fun...this is where to have morning coffee as your eyes search for monkeys in our trees, the sloths an, ..There is Our neighborhood is just 2 km. out of the town itself ....therefore it is quiet, and small as it is bounded by this river.. LOCATION LOCATION. THIS IS A FABULOUS HOUSE !!!

We are a CARRIBEAN area with a native culture going back to the 1700's....the town was known as OLD HARBOR, renamed Puerto Viejo today..Our beaches are many as you drive through the town and south ....Salsa Brava is our BIG wave in Dec-Jan-feb.but there is surfing every day... Fabulous restaurants, Reggae music in dancehalls,tours go everywhere,exotics growing all over, botanical garden, fun shopping in local art clothing souvenir tiendas, local color in restaurants, bars, markets...this is a fun town with it's own culture !!

Vacation 2.5 bedroom home: This is a stunning beautifully crafted 2 story wooden house. It overlooks the Rio Negro River which flows 3 blocks away into the Caribbean Sea. It faces the open jungle and is all about the birds, the bees and the monkeys in the trees. Private, Relaxing and Enchanting. Five kilometers from the colorful musical town of Puerto Viego one can enjoy some of the best food in Costa Rica.

Description: The kitchen overlooks the river and a 300ft. tree. The house can be completely opened and closed with shutters sometimes allowing birds to swoop freely through the house. Garden flowers attract humming birds and a variety of other bird species. Beautiful veranda as you enter the house gives the first view of the Rio Negra River. Long L-shaped upholstered benches on the first floor comfortably sleep 2 people and provide a social setting adjacent to the kitchen.

The Town: The Town of Puerto Viejo was once called 'Old Harbor' where it was possible to hitch a ride on a banana boat to distant ports on the Caribbean without the papers needed today. In today's world it is called 'A Happenin Place'. Time slows down, music and food abound and a relaxed timelessness experience is had by all.
