We have just returned from 2 weeks in this lovely home.The owners were wonderful to us and happened to be leaving Punta Cana Airport as we were arriving they were very kind and gracious to us. The home is beautiful and the property is very very clean inside and out. We lived in the pool. The maid is the nicest lady ever, as is her young daughter that helps in the house and kitchen.Our only problem was that we do not speak Spanish and wished that we could have gotten to know them better, but even at that, they went out of their way to help us get around and looked after us all (6 adults and 3 small children) perfectly. The housekeeper made meals for us and did our laundry daily..what a treat. Getting groceries was an adventure as the resort which is huge has no supermarket (this resort has many many vacation homes), so we had to take a long cab ride to a supermarket . . The Punta Cana Tortuga Bay facility is very very nice.. but it is not a place to go if you are at all interested in night life... because there is really none. The beach is pure white sand, when we first saw it my 3 year old grandson asked when it snowed. There is seaweed on many parts of the shore that I felt the resort could have done a better job of cleaning up ,.. but the water is very warm and clean and shallow for a long ways, so very good for swimming and beach fun. Many days we were the only ones on the beach and it goes on forever. The Pizza restaurant at the pool was very good, and the restaurant at the golf couse was excellant. La yola was good as well but we were disappointed in the service especially as it is off season and they were certainly not busy. All in all a very nice family vacation The home and the owners are lovely but we found the resort a bit remote. A tip that we learned was that when we wished to go anywhere off of the resort the transportation people at the resort would take us in a van and show us around other towns clubs beaches whatever we wanted and wait for us all day if we wished, the cost was really not anymore than cab fare.
