If you do not want to prepare your meal, the lodge is nearby for a buffet breakfast, quick lunch, or a relaxing dinner as there are several restaurants in the area. Your chalet is within walking distance of the golf course as well as the local lake for swimming, fishing, and boating. A game of tennis or basketball is also close by, as is horseback riding. Scenic nature trails for hiking, wind throughout the area, and in the winter months, downhill and cross-country skiing and snow tubing are nearby.

A nice house that needs some attention

The house is easily located just off PA Rt.522 8 miles south of Berkeley Springs, WV. It is directly across the road from the main entrance to Cacapon State Park. The Park is the main attraction with many outdoor activities including a great golf course.

While the house itself is very spacious and clean, the furnishings are limited and in need of some updating. The overall layout is very suitable if you have multiple couples or want some separation from the kids - downstairs entertainment/play area as well as bedroom and bath. Main floor great room has a large fireplace and lots of dry wood for fires is available stacked and on the property. Very beautiful view of the mountains from the deck and great room.

Owner was very helpful and gracious throughout the rental set up. Caretaker lives next door if any problems.

Totaly enjoyed weekend Chalet had some problems with Home Entertainment system, TVs etc. but all we used it for was the weather. Area was great, an hour away from Harpers Ferry, Charles City Races, and very close to Berkley Springs Natural Springs which was new to us and across the road from the state park. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get off by themselves.
