Photos and Description of this Anchorage holiday 2 bed, 1 bath- jacuzzi tub and granite counters, sleeps 6, steps to slopes

A perfect location for winter skiing and summer hiking/sightseeing. This luxury 1200 sq. ft. condo is at the base of Mt. Alyeska. Chair 3 is directly out your back door. Just walk 50 yards across the parking lot to local restaurants, Sitzmark Bar, visual arts center and bakery. Large floor to ceiling windows on both floors look out onto the Glacier Valley- breathtakingly beautiful. The first floor has a spacious open kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room with gas fireplace and large, comfortable, sectional couch, flat screen TV w/cable, DVD & a CD stereo. The 2nd floor has 2 bedrooms: the master suite has log furniture and queen size bed; the 2nd bedroom has one double bed and one single bed, with single pull-out trundle beds under both. The shared bathroom has a jacuzzi tub with granite counters and slate floors. There is a shared game room (pool table, ping pong and foosball) with men's and women's sauna, shower rooms, and ski waxing. Wireless Internet is provided also.

Nearest Airport: 35 miles south of Anchorage at 40 Miles
Car: not necessary
Girdwood Valley offers an abundance of recreational opportunities, both in the summer and winter. There is dog sledding, tubing, nordic, alpine and heli-skiing in the winter; and hiking, biking, gold-panning and sightseeing in the summer. Girdwood Valley also hosts some of Anchorage's finest restaurants. Girdwood is 30 miles south of Anchorage on your way to Whittier, (the portal to glacier and marine tours of Prince William Sound), the Kenai River (the best fishing in Alaska) and the Homer Spit (also great deep sea fishing and the spectacular scenery of Katchemak Bay). Many of our guests use our condo as 'home base' for their Alaskan adventures. The only complaint we have heard is that they did not stay long enough.

Perfectly central location for Alaska daytripping

This condo is located in Girdwood, AK. A car is likely neede to thoroughly enjoy this location. It is @ 35 minutes from Anchorage, and @ hours from Seward. The condo itself is in an older building, but you totally loose sight of that when you enter the unit. It is very comfortable and homey. There is a well stocked kitchen with a dining table and chairs for 8. The refridgerator is full size with freezer. The living area has a large sectional sofa, and flat screen TV with cable and movies. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms, a master and a guest room. The master has a queen bed, the guest room has a twin, and full, both have equal trundle beds. The bath is a jacuzzi tub, and is also on the upper level. The condo co-op has a laundry room and rec room. The owners (Win & Audrey) are very helpful with activities in the area, and were very responsive to any questions. We enjoyed this vacation, and the location was perfect for hiking trips and checking out Anchorage and environs. The only downside is that bedrooms and bath are upstairs, so it would be difficult for people with disabilities and you have to keep an extra eye and ear out for the little ones. We traveled with a 2 yr old, and it was no problem! Great place at a great rate!

We completely enjoyed our stay in Alaska and our week in Girdwood. Your condo was very convenient, clean and neat. The view was amazing. The location allowed us to visit Anchorage, Whittier, Hope and Seward in addition to fishing in the may local rivers. This was a truely great vacation for us.

We really enjoyed staying in the condo. The accomodations were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for our party of four. The unit was very clean and well stocked with kitchen items, nice bath towels, etc. The jetted tub was great! The location allowed us to explore the peninsula and have a nice place to come back to at the end of the day.

It was a little difficult for us to find since we arrived late and it was dark (we couldn't tell the color of the roof, for instance). At times the refrigerator made a quirky sound that we first thought was a small dog next door. We were going to do laundry onsite, but we didn't bring detergent and there wasn't any for sale in the laundry room. Maybe there was some in the condo but we didn't find it. We ended up doing our laundry in town - not a big deal.

All in all, this was a great place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay in the area.

Nice condo in a great location, close to the bake shop..really enjoyed our stay!!! Would love to return and spend some more time, Alaska is so nice in the summer!

We loved the view and the hiking and the variety of things to do in Alyeska area. Being right next door to The Bake Shop was wonderful too. A delightful and convenient place to stay. Thank you.
