Condo and Resort Amenities:
Located in the 5-star, gated resort community of Windsor Palms, my large condo has a fully-equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, iron/ironing board, and heating/air conditioning. All linens are included as well as cable TV, VCR, DVD, PlayStation 2 and Internet access. The large clubhouse is a 30-second walk across the street, and includes a beautifully decorated lounge, a Sundry Shop, Fitness Centre, and Cyber Café. The Game Room features video games, table tennis, billiards, Pool, Air Hockey and more. There is also a comfortable 58-seat movie theatre, where guests can request which DVD movie they wish to view from the extensive list available in the Sundry Shop. Outside amenities include heated Olympic-sized pool, Jacuzzi, toddler pool and children’s playground, charcoal BBQ area, two floodlit tennis courts, half-court basketball, and sand volleyball court. Sports equipment loan is available from the Sundry Shop. All these amenities are included in the rental rate to my guests.
Local Amenities and Attractions:
Within easy driving distance are pharmacies, medical centers, supermarkets, banks, restaurants, fast food outlets, a Walmart Supercenter, many premium shopping outlets, souvenir shops, and miniature golf. The town of Celebration offers additional services, a post office, book store, and boutiques. International Drive, Orange County Convention Center, Sea World, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Wet & Wild, Gatorland & Prime Factory Outlet World are only 25± minutes away. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM, Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, and Disney’s water parks are even closer. The historic town of Kissimmee offers fishing, horseback riding, air boat, balloon and helicopter rides. 'Old Town' is a fun place to spend an evening with fairground attractions, bungee jumping, Go-Karting and street entertainment. Admission is free; rides/food are individually priced. Busch Gardens, Cypress Gardens, Silver Springs, Kennedy Space Center, Daytona Beach are an easy day trip away.
Further Afield:
If theme parks, great shopping and fine dining are only half your Florida experience; if your adventurous spirit is beckoning…this part of Florida feeds the southern Everglades so there are some wonderful lakes full of incredible wild life and some great fishing. You can even hire a boat. There are many interesting day-trips available, including wildlife tours, air-boat rides, and gambling on the Indian Reservations. Within 2½ hours drive to the south is fantastic Miami with its cruise ships to the Bahamas for quickie 2 or 3-day excursions, not to mention the delicious Cuban food and tourist attractions. Heading west from Miami, travel through the Everglades and Alligator Alley to the lovely Gulf Coast city of Naples. See the alligators bathing in the sun by the side of the road and the Anhingas spreading their wet wings to dry. If shelling thrills your soul, scenic Sanibel Island is not only renowned for its beauty, but is a shell collector’s paradise.
Golf:
If you’re a golfer, you’ve come to the right place! Orlando has many golf courses and caters to all abilities. Just to name a few, Falcons Fire, Kissimmee Golf Club and all of Disney's golf courses are located within a 15-minute drive of my condo. The popular Mystic Dunes Golf Course is a mere 5-minute drive directly across the road from Windsor Palms. Take your pick and have a wonderful golfing experience while working on that great Florida tan. If you feel a little more adventurous, north of Orlando there are many lovely golf courses. Daytona Beach, home of the Daytona International Speedway’s “Daytona 500” Nascar race, provides 17 beautiful golf courses to choose from. There is a lovely beach to admire at sunset, and fine dining to enhance the end of your day. How about St. Augustine? There are an abundance of golf courses in and around this Spanish beach town, know for its Fountain of Youth, supposedly discovered by Ponce de Leon. Apart from golf, this town offers shopping in beautiful old town area and romantic dining overlooking the ocean.
